What does this suggestion change/add/remove:

[I believe one of the biggest problems with Chef in its current state is that you cannot upgrade the level of ingredients you can buy by having a higher cooking level. The only way to access Good, Excellent, or Perfect ingredients is by scavenging on the surface which feels extremely unfair. My proposal to fix this problem is by making new ranks of Chef’s that would be granted to you based on your cooking level.

L0 Culinary Student - This would be completely unchanged from the current Foundation Chef role.

L10 Sous Chef - As the lowest level of a proper chef, you should have access to a Kitchen Knife for self protection and for role play aspects, as well as a tip jar so that people can think to tip you for cooking without you inherently asking. This rank would give you access to Good quality ingredients via the Chef Henderson NPC.

L20 Executive Chef - This is the role for truly devoted Chefs, as such you would gain access to a menu that you could edit and pass out as much as you like. There should also be a whiteboard added to the outside of EZ Kitchen in the Cafe that only Executive Chefs and above could edit. Obviously this rank would gain the benefits of all the last ones and would be able to purchase Excellent quality ingredients via the Chef Henderson NPC.

L30 Master Chef - This is for the cream of the crop Chef, someone truly devoted who has maxed out their cooking level. This rank is mostly for the fun of it but obviously this rank would gain all the benefits of the last ranks and gain access to Perfect quality ingredients via the Chef Henderson NPC. I think it would also be fun if the character model for this role is Chef Gorden Ramsey. It would also make a lot of sense if Master Chefs were the people testing lower rank chefs for their next cooking certifications.]

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
[Very few people have much to say about the chef position, most likely because there's so little to do in the role. My suggestion is different because this would be a complete overhaul/rework to the chef role.]

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
[There would be way more people in the foundation playing Chef. The Chef role itself will feel far more unique and offer real progression. One of the biggest positives is that this would give the Chef role a real purpose, in its current state the only benefit being a Chef grants you is access to a Radio.]

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
[If there are people that get to the higher ranks of Chef and then start using the granted items (Kitchen Knife, Tip Jar) outside of the kitchen just for fun I could see that being a problem. The higher ranked Chefs having access to better quality ingredients could make it harder for people that scavenge on the surface to sell their found high quality ingredients. ]

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
[This suggestion would make it so Chef is a solid career path within the facility and diversify your options further. Realistically there are very few downsides to this suggestion, it’s mostly just quality of life and a way to make it so the Chef role has some real impact. I can't reiterate enough that the current Chef role offers no special upside for using it. Anyone with clearance 1 and above can walk into the kitchen and cook. I think at the very least the Chef role should still have easy access to better ingredients.]

I like this but I don't think there should be new jobs to cluster up the F4 menu if that is what I am taking from this. The progression should be silent like ingredient levels. When you raise your cooking level you now have access to LvL specific food(lvl 1 pizza vs lvl 14 pizza), when you hit the proposed lvl requirement, 10, 20, 30, you would then start auto getting the upgraded food quality. Like the D-Class models with karma, chefs could also get something similar.

Great Idea just don't think new F4 job's is right approach.

Should be greatly considered for approval with both mine and HiTyr's suggestions.

Excellently written. I’ve noticed that chef is, as stated above, not unique. Aside from access to a radio anyone can gain cooking XP and anyone can cook. Anyone with CL1 access can enter the kitchen and make a chefs job irrelevant. So some unique job identity would be nice to see.

Chefs have a lot of RP potential as you could make your own special Chef group and have internal roles like these. It's not something that really needs some kind of implementation.

I do actually agree with this quite a bit, it would be a little nuts to have 4 different chef jobs. Though I would still love to see it happen. I do think a great alternative would be a Karma system like you said, but I believe this should be done with different level food certifications that would grant you the ability to purchase the next quality of ingredients that's based solely off of your cooking level. I also believe there should at the very least be 1 extra Job for Chef's added, something like Executive Chef when you reach cooking level: 15 or Support Level: 20 so it wouldn't have to be a whitelisted role. This hypothetical role should also have some the features I listed above in my original post.

As an absolutely dedicated chef of the foundation, I support various aspects of this suggestion if not the entire suggestion. Here are a few of my notes, both positive and negative.

As for the initial argument, I for the most part agree. Many limitations that the chef role incurs during the cooking of food is the ingredient limitations. I understand that rarity is incredibly important to the in game economy to a degree. However, searching the surface takes hours and takes far more time than the average chef is willing to contribute. Although I believe perfect ingredients would be a step too far, I do believe that Excellent ingredients should be made available in smaller quanities for the most dedicated of chefs.

Although I absolutely love the idea of further chef roles, I believe that four roles total would indeed be cluttered and unecessary. I believe a more apt approach would be a three tiered system including:

Tier One: Average ingredients purchased, no knife, and restricted access to a special bulletin board within the kitchen.
Available Immediately

Tier Two: Good ingredients purchased, no knife, still restricted access to the previously mentioned board.
Available at cooking level 15

Tier Three: Excellent ingredients purchased, knife access, ability to add one daily document to the bulletin board.
Available at cooking level 30

Positives would include:
As stated, the chef role would explode with new life. The chef role would be much more fulfilling and rewarding to engage in roleplay.

Negatives would include:
The knife, as stated would become a magnet towards 'non-roleplayers'. The ingredient bonus could slightly hurt the in game economy, however the revision of perfect->excellent for the highest tier should mitigate that.

Based on the negatives and positives both listed in these potential revisions and the standing official suggestion:
These benefits would absolutely outweigh the negatives and provide chef players with various, long overdue perks. This would also be incredibly beneficial to new players as it is a whole new progression path.

I 100% support this suggestion albeit with minor adjustments. Well written!

As others stated, I dont want more clutter to the F4 menu but a passive karma-like system would be great
