What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:
Ethics Committee Chairman. My main reason for applying is that, in my time as an ECM, I've seen a lot of issues that have not been dealt with properly, such as a lack of leadership, communication, and organisation, which cause major constraints on the overall function of the ethics committee.
From when I started playing the server again in October 2025, becoming a member of the ethics committee has always been my goal. My main passion for this goal was that I wanted to improve the overall quality of roleplay being created, better the experience for other players, and ensure their departments are being run properly and a steady flow of roleplay is being created to avoid any sort of slump in the respective departments.
During my time in ISD, I strived to ensure the department kept improving and growing, whilst ensuring that a constant flow of roleplay was being created for members of ISD to take part in, as well as ensuring proper management and organisation to ensure the department ran smoothly. For example, I replaced the 4 offices of ISD with 2 new offices to allow for their combined workload to be split effectively between two commissioners whilst allowing for closer cooperation between ISD leadership. Allowing them to manage their own office can create RP for the department as well, such as OILA creating the lawyer licenses which allow players from other departments to take part in tribunal roleplay by defending another player in a tribunal

What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?
I consider myself a great candidate for Ethics Committee Chairman because I have extensive experience in overseeing the Foundation Legal Codex from a position that requires impartiality, responsibility, and good judgment. So far in my term as an ethics committee member, I have assisted Omega-1 by creating roleplay such as my short term character Mr Pebbles, as well as Eric Godman which created a roleplay scenario that put the goals of the committee directly against the O5 council, which lead to further mindgames by the council, such as even agreeing with him in certain situations, for example regarding containing a consultant which was a well known sarkic that was later overruled by the former ECC in agreement with -2. He also was called a traitor and treasonous by members of Alpha-1 and -4 themself which eventually led to his death being ordered in a hearing led by the O5 council.
Another RP storyline which is still ongoing is with site advisor Lunaris and researcher boku regarding lunaris’ origin which was that they were created by the church of the broken god, which boku created a document about and brought it to me, which lead to it becoming a major project for them. This rp has expanded to include DEA by contacting two sects of the church of the broken god, which are the Church of Maxwellism and Cogworks Orthodoxy. This has not progressed lately due to Boku going on LOA and awaiting GM response on the GM request on Discord.
I have assisted Omega-1 Regcom, advising the new commander and assisting him with whatever he needs, such as questions about who to promote and even simple chats to ensure we are both on the same page regarding either issues with Omega-1 personnel or even how to help Omega-1 engage in more meaningful roleplay. As well as this, I have assisted ISD the best I can by helping decide the new directors, answering their questions, and attempting to help in any way I can.
As Director of Internal Security, I worked consistently to keep order, enforce the FLC and Site Policies, to ensure that Foundation personnel are held to the standards expected of them. To add to this point the changes I have helped introduce has helped the department greatly, for example Myself and broda introduced the changes to the induction into isd and our manpower has expanded and many people have grown in the department as well. As I've mentioned before the commissioners are empowered to make changes to the department if they deem it necessary to improve the department, the other massive change that I helped introduce as director is the changes to the offices, to make them into two big offices and this has helped ISD’s relations and our legal affairs grow and has and will continue to introduce even more roleplay to the department.
My time in leadership gave me a perception of the demanding situations encountered through departments throughout the Foundation, allowing me to evaluate situations from a variety of perspectives rather than just one department's concerns. I understand the Ethics Committee's duties are not only to approve or disapprove actions/tests, but also to ensure that decisions made are in the best interest of containment, safety, security, and to be fair, accountable, and consistent with the principles of the Foundation.
I believe in honest observations, professionalism, and making absolute evidence-based choices as opposed to personal bias. My experience of managing touchy situations, resolving conflicts, and working with Site personnel has prepared me to serve as an effective Chairman. I can bring maturity, consistency, and dedication to ensuring that the Foundation functions well without losing sight of the ethical requirements that differentiate it from the threats that exist in it.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?
The Ethics Committee occupies a unique position within the Foundation in roleplay. Its role is to determine where the line between necessity and excess lies, ensuring that the Foundation carries out its mission statement without abandoning the principles that justify its existence. The Committee exists to make certain that the Foundation remains "cold, not cruel", permitting only those actions that are genuinely required to secure and protect humanity. In many ways, while the Foundation safeguards humanity from the anomalous, the Ethics Committee safeguards the Foundation from losing sight of its own purpose, ensuring that the Foundation does not become a terrifying image of itself. Publicly, however, the Committee should maintain the image of being little more than an administrative and personnel department, preserving the illusion that has long concealed its true influence.
The FLC.
The Ethics Committee has the responsibility to ensure the foundation stays a safe and secure environment to carry out the work necessary to ensure humanity's survival; this is why the FLC was introduced. The ethics committee created and enforces the FLC with the internal security department to ensure the foundation does not become reckless or unlawful in the eyes of the ethics committee. The ethics committee holds the right to add or change charges in the FLC to adapt to the changing environment in the foundation.
Tribunals.
The ethics committee holds the responsibility to use tribunals to ensure justice is served through the court of law. If someone deems their arrest to be illegal due to lack of evidence or unethical tribunals can come in handy, they add a certain type of roleplay to allow for players to plead their case to the crimes they have been accused of and ISD can plea their case and their evidence to show that the defendant is guilty and needs to serve their punishment such as jail, being sent off site, or being executed this all can change depending of the severity of crimes committed.
Managing ISD Directors.
Management of the DOISD is a very important role, as you are ensuring that the director is taking the proper steps to enforce the FLC, as well as ensuring they are managing and making the right choices to ensure the survival of their department.
Managing the cover story.
The ethics committee need to portray an image of being an administrative sort of committee that's role is to ensure that the foundation does not lose their humanity and their goal the work that the ethics committee does behind the scenes needs to be kept top secret from the rest of the foundation as if it gets out it will lead to the disbanding of the ethics committee this is in fact the longest lie, O1 must be used to stop infoleaks in their tracks and to stop the spread of information.
Primary Action.
The ethics committee reserves the right to vote on primary action against all members of the O5 council due to either their unethical actions or massive breaches of the FLC. This choice, however, is up to the ECC. If the decision is made, which will rarely be made, it is up to Omega 1 to act upon it and enact the ethics committee's will.
Management of omega-1.
Managing omega 1 is a very important role of the ethics committee, ensuring that they are in a state to protect and enforce the committee's role by providing orders and helping create roleplay for omega 1. This can assist in improving the state of their regiment.
ECA Management.
Managing the ECAs consists of giving them ECM orders to allow them to do certain actions, such as going around the site, getting feedback for the ethics committee to improve on, or assisting them with any questions they have, and assisting them with their roleplay to expand upon it.
General CL4 Jobs.
Auting AA, mass term, passive breaches, and activating FLC are all examples of duties a CL4 member of staff has which are still passed onto cl5 personnel whilst mainly being handled by lower-ranking personnel
Alpha Warhead.
The Alpha Warhead is last resort to solving ongoing Code 5s and 008 breaches that have lasted too long and have negatively impacted server experience and roleplay opportunity

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):
ISD Director Applications.
It is up to the ethics committee to decide, in a joint decision, who should be picked for DOISD by using their application as a bias in addition to using their work within their department to pick the best person for the role, who will benefit the department the most.
ECA Applications.
It is also the role of the ethics committee to choose the best picks for ECA by also using their application for biases, as well as seeing what roleplay they have done, and what work within their respective departments.
ECM Applications.
The whole of the ethics committee member team works together to pick the best choice for ECM, who has done the most to benefit their department, who has put in the most work in their department, and who is the proper pick for the role. Additionally, they need to observe their behaviour in their respective roles and how they have benefited their department in their respective roles as well.
Omega 1.
It is up to ethics to pick a commander for Omega 1. When choosing a command it is important, as I've stated previously, to look into their RP, work, and behaviour within Omega 1 to ensure the best possible pick is chosen
SSL Communication:
All members of Fcomm need to be able to communicate with Senior server leadership to ensure that all issues are communicated to ensure that server and roleplay health is maintained
