Code Name: "Gambit"

Real Name: Leon Fitzpatrick
Nationality: Irish
Gender: Male
Date of Birth: 07/07/1996
Biographical Information:
Leon Fitzpatrick was born and raised in Clare, Ireland. He had a very sheltered life within the remote town he lived in, the community was tight knit and his parents ran a corner shop and they knew everyone in that small town.
There was a small garda within the town he lived, he always wanted to be a fireman or a policeman when he grew up, he went with the latter. When Leon grew up into his late teens, he departed from his small town to go to the academy to be trained to join the Garda, the months flew by as he was in the academy, he met many new people and set the bar pretty high as far as records go, he even learned to gamble and got pretty good at it, emptied the pockets of his peers at some times, he was a hard working lad and eventually joined the Garda.
As time went by and he was fulfilling his duties, he received a strange wellness check call in his home town, because he was passing that direction to the town, he thought he'd call it in. While Leon was on his way to his home town, he couldn't stop this feeling of existential dread scorching his nerves, he held that feeling tight, hoping whatever this strange call was about, this feeling would keep him safe from it.
Leon arrived at the destination, it was the house of a man who owned his own landscaping business called Sean Hagan Landscaping. Leon always thought Paul to be a strange fellow but didn't think he'd do anything that would harm himself, he banged on his door a few times... no answer, he decided to shout through the letter box, his voice echoing throughout the dark hallway as if it was a cavern on the inside, Leon found it unusual to say the least, especially because the door had glazed glass and there wasn't a speck of light in the hallway, almost like it was being absorbed.
Leon went around the back of the house to see if he could see anything unusual, but no dice, he gave the back door a few bangs and it opened, the lock wasn't broken, the hinges completely preserved and intact, almost as if someone opened it for him, as the door opened, that feeling of dread burst into a cold sweat, every nerve in his body was screaming at him to get out of there and request backup, but his non-sane mind prevailed and he took a step, as soon as he did, he felt like he was shifted into another dimension, his surroundings completely darkened, the door behind him consumed by the darkness, he could feel drop of sweat on his body running down, could hear his own blood as if he was trying to listen to the sound of the ocean in a conch shell.
He said to himself, under his breath, "This feels like a Door to Nowhere", his nerves still screaming at him, he couldn't take another step forward, he didn't know if it was going to be his last, but he bit his tongue and took the step, when he did, he heard a step coming towards him, he couldn't tell if it was as echo of his, or if something was there, he stiffened up and said out loud "Paul? Are you there Paul? I received a call to come do a wellness check on you, your neighbour is very worried for your health" he waited for a response but alas, there was nothing but the sound of his own heart beat, he decided to take another step, and again, another step came towards him, this time he was sure it wasn't an echo.
Leon refused to move any further, but felt as if he walked backwards, he would've been swallowed by the darkness, too afraid to turn around, he just stood there, he didn't fear death, but he didn't want to die without making his change in the world, no matter how small, that was then the footsteps he heard that matched his, began to approach him, they shuffled, slid and stomped, faster and faster and FASTER, then... silence, nothing, Leon in that moment prepared for the worst, he looked down and drew his weapon very cautiously, avoiding making any kind of sound, the crinkling of his high-vis winter coat echoed, panic began to fully set in, he drew his gun , took it off of saftey and redirected his focus in-front of him, he turned on the flash light at the end of his pistols barrel, and there was a man, no, man isn't the correct word to use here, but Leon didn't know how to describe it, it stood before him, a little shorter than him at about 5'11.
Leon had already played this scenario out 200 times in his head, all his senses were dialed to eleven, this was his do or die moment, the entity threw its arms up, trying to grapple him, Leon, without a second of hesitation and already squeezing the trigger, opened fire *BANG* *BANG* *BANG*, he unloaded many rounds into this thing and after it fell to the ground, he fell back onto his butt due to mental exhaustion, he tried to gather his thoughts but this was the first time he ever shot his gun at something that was alive, for lack of better word of course.
He heard more footsteps coming towards him, this time en-masse, he knew he didn't have enough rounds for this but he got up and directed his gun into the darkness, *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* he unloaded more rounds, the sound of each bullet ringing through his eardrums, the sounds of the casings falling to the ground, in all this fear and dread he was feeling, he has never felt more Alive.
After his stream of fire to these things, he had run out of ammo, hearing his gun clicking, trying to fire ammunition that wasn't there, he kept it pointed in the direction of the footsteps due to the flashlight still having power, it didn't help much, but it allowed him to see the outlines of whatever was there, he had pretty much accepted his fate, he understood there was nothing he could do, in his attempts to walk backwards, it felt neverending, the distance of the entities and Leon grew closer and closer until they were right before him (About 7 Feet), he shut his eyes and hoped it would be painless, but then again, silence... nothing, Leon feels something grab the back of his jacket and pull him with strong force, after this, he feels light once again, its piercing his eyelids, he opens his eyes and he's surrounded by these heavily armed men, adoring blue uniform with a strange symbol on the shoulder.
The man wearing a gas mask, "How did you find this place? Who are you?" He asked, Leon still adapting to what's going, he says "I just came here to do a wellness check, my name is Leon, who are you?", the man wearing the gas mask turns to a man standing about 15 feet behind him, Leon looking past him, he sees the man nod, the man in the gas mask says "We are a Coalition that deals with parathreats, and you were just caught inside one", Leon looking puzzled asks "What do you mean parathreats, do you mean like parathreats? Do you mean like paranormal beings? Surely there is no such thing", the man wearing the gask mask eyes squint, as if he is smiling, "You have to come with us, we need to ask you questions regarding what happened where you were", Leon again, looking puzzled, "What do you mean where I was, I was in there" he shoots his look to where the doorway is, but its just a hallway leading into a utility room, like a normal looking house, "But I was just... I could've sworn there was a door there, the inside was completely shrouded in darkness, as if it was a Door to Nowhere", the man in the gas mask turned back to the man in the suit, he giving him another nod of confirmation, "You can tell us all about it back at our facility".
Leon arrives at this facility and is immediately put inside a lab he presumes is for the clinically insane, but he knew what he saw, they said they were running some tests just to make sure everything was functioning properly, and it was, there were no lasting side effects of what happened, except everything felt very, sharp, as if every little touch, smell and sound had been enhanced, obviously he didn't tell anyone this because he wasn't fully aware of it himself, after they ran their tests and he was 100% completely safe, he was taken into questioning, the man in the gas mask again, but this time he wasn't wearing it, his name was Garreth.
Garreth asked Leon a series of questions, he listened attentively as if he had experienced the exact same phenomenon, after all of that, Garreth said "Leon, you're a very lucky man that we got there when we did, otherwise you would've ended up like them", Leon felt that feeling of dread again, his ears perked up and his hairs stood on end,"What do you mean them? What exactly are those things?" he asked, Garreth smirked, "I can't tell you that, unless you're willing to become part of something bigger, something that will require you to put the protection of mankind before any personal need", Leon chuckled at what he said, he couldn't tell if he was being serious or not, but Garreth never broke eye contact, "Leon, many people have been where you were and have survived, I am one of those people, and I have lost many friends in there, but it was a choice I had to make, ones mind can crumble and fall apart in that place, the fact you are sitting here before he shows you have something special, and we need that in our ranks".
Leon feeling flattered by what Garreth said, perked up, smiled and said "When do we begin?".

What can you bring to the Global Occult Coalition:
I believe myself to have brilliant leadership, negotiation and roleplay ability.
I am quite friendly and enjoy meeting new people / engaging with them, I always try my best to be strict but fair in any scenario, in or outside of roleplay and think that could be an important asset to the GOC.
I believe I can bring quality ideas and roleplay scenarios to the GOC. I have been a member of the server for sometime now, engaged in many different varieties of roleplay, but it has all been within the foundation.
I will be very active as GOC, when I am not upholding my NCO duties in O-1 and I will always be there to help other members of the GOC with their roleplay scenarios are general issues they may be having.
Why do you want to join the Global Occult Coalition?:
Within the GOC, I would love to push these my abilities to lead / roleplay to their utmost limit, there are only so many scenarios I can create or get into within the foundation / CI, so having the opportunity to expand upon these is something I jump at.
I understand that GOC has a lot of roleplay potential and I would love to be involved in that, I love the idea of dismantling and destroying anomalies as GOC and protecting human life, I believe it has a lot of great opportunities for amazing roleplay.
Why was the Global Occult Coalition founded?:
The reason why the GOC was founded on the belief of paranormal and their destruction. The GOC believe that these paranormal beings are a threat to mankind, no matter how benign these paranormal beings may be, they seek to destroy them without hesitation or excuse.
What does the PHYSICS, PSYCHE, and PTOLEMY Divisions specialize in and give an example of some functions they do:
The PHYSICS Division is a specialized unit within the GOC that houses two teams for monitoring, investigating, and capturing or neutralizing anomalous entities, those teams being the Assessment Team & the Strike team respectfully.
This division plays a crucial role in maintaining security and stability within the paranormal realm.
The PSYCHE Division of the GOC is charged with serving as a mediator between the paranormal community and humanity, working to maintain peace and harmony between the two. This division is responsible for establishing and maintaining communication and cooperation with the occult powers to ensure that conflicts are resolved peacefully.
The PTOLEMY Division of the GOC is responsible for providing support to the other branches of the organization and ensuring that the GOC operates efficiently and effectively. This division plays a crucial role within the GOC and helps to ensure that all of its operations are successful.
This division is responsible for the research of paranormal beings and the development of new equipment.
What are the Global Occult Coalition's goals?:
The Global Occult Coalition's seem relatively simple at first glance, they wish to protect mankind at all costs, regardless of who or what these anomalous beings are, but when you read into them, you come across the Fivefold Mission.
The Fivefold Mission goes into depth about everything that the GOC stands for and its goals, these things include:
The survival and protection of human life, including members of the GOC itself.
The preservation and reclamation of knowledge of anomalous entities to avoid mass trepidation
The GOC tackles these mission everytime they get ready to battle in their silent war against the anomalous and non-anomalous, their ability to eliminate these threats is second to non.
Please explain The Seventh Occult War:
The Seventh Occult War took place during World War 2, where the Allied Occult Initiative (AOI) and the OBskura Corps were engaging one another, the Nazis wished to perform the Rite of Solomon, using SCP-3457 to gain combat leverage over their enemies, after this battle had endured long enough, the Allied Occult Initiative and the Foundation took up arms and united against their common enemy, shortly after this battle, the Global Occult Coalition would be formed.
What makes the Global Occult Coalition different in in-comparison to the other groups within the SCP-universe in your view?:
I like the GOC over other GOIs due to the fact that there is logic within their Chaos, how they are hidden in plain sight and their most important thing to them is the survival of mankind, even if it displaces other important matters.
