Why are you applying for Security Captain?
I believe that the security department is the best structured department in the foundation. It has the replayability of having several different tasks to do, yet is simple enough that any beginner could understand it easily. In my time as a former captain, I've found myself performing various important tasks, like being in charge of D-block or leading sweeps. I have a good understanding of the department and its structure, and wish to be able to make a substantial impact in this site. I have a lot of things to improve, and I believe that this could be the next step in said improvement.
What makes you suitable for Security Captain?:
I not only held the role of security captain previously, only resigning due to issues with school and exams, but I have also made several improvements to the department already, like expanding on the cross training with other departments alongside Grog Leo or rewriting the HWL handbook for the gensec rework last summer.
I also have been described as a fun, pleasant person to be around, while at the same time being serious when need be. I have been able to increase morale in D-block by my treatment of staff, while also being able to deal with serious situations like a CI group ‘in the garden’ until a more senior member of staff arrived to take care of it.
What are the responsibilities of the Security Captain in RP?:
Captains have a long list of responsibilities, but the main ones are:
Making sure security does their job to the best of their abilities.
Educating cadets and other newcomers on how to best do their duties
Hosting tryouts for SRU and Heavy weapons licenses
Working with other senior members of security to make sure the department runs smoothly
Helping other departments to make sure the facility runs smoothly and enabling RRT to help with other departments
Overseeing D-block operations which include staffing POIs with RRT escorts, Maintaining order in D-block, informing other staff where they are allowed to go, enabling research with D-class and escorts, and watching over the D-class, making sure they don't riot and authorising sweeps if needed.
Please give some lore about your Security Captain character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Gustavo was born in Spain in the late 1980s, and grew up in a fairly normal childhood. Once he graduated high school, he joined the Spanish army in order to afford to pay his college tuition, but in time, he realised that the army was better suited for him, so he dropped out. Sometime later, he along with his squadron would encounter an instance of SCP-3██9, and his ability to think quickly in anomalous situations led to him being hired by the foundation.
At some point, Gustavo was transferred over to site-65 from site-███, and began working for their department of general security, where he quickly rose up the ranks. He soon became a captain during a time of internal restructuring of the department, and helped in improving the department further. Tragically, an incident occurred involving a powerful anti meme which left him unable to operate for a few months until he could relearn the skills needed in the security captain job.
