What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
• Tryouts have leniency, but should use terminology such as 'Administration' 'Externals' instead of 'Rank Request' or 'Discord' - Add trainings in addition to tryouts, or better define areas where whitelist roles are allowed to be tried out and trained for.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
No.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
The idea would be for whitelisted roles that don't have tryouts but require the same effort or more, to have increased quality RP regarding role understanding and depth. This would allow the same freedom that tryouts allow, toward explaining details that may not fit IC-communications, while still covering information required to properly play the role.
It would also aid in navigating a gray zone of what's allowed when teaching someone for a whitelisted role, and what isn't, thereby preventing frustration around lines that are not well-defined.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
People running by someone in the midst of training and overhearing something OOC regarding rules and regulations. Only serious issue I could see, would be people not taking the allowance seriously and discussing off-topic things/derailing, which I would think would be addressed in the same way that leniency is. IE, case by case basis.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
More knowledge of the role being gained only leads to more quality RP in the long term, pending it's taken on in good faith, and not by someone trolling. More in-depth knowledge gives more depth to RP with accuracy to the surrounding lore. Questions that go unanswered tend to become assumptions that require correction later.
The above is from my own understanding having come from being on and staffing other strict-RP servers, as well as someone that's worked on lore for some of them.
