What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
- This suggestion changes the interrogation rule and reverts it to the old interrogation rule which is slightly tweaked to still hold some roleplay effect.

Under the current rule:

"Interrogation Rules DEA/MTF/GOC/CI have control over another faction's prisoner within their own base and have the power to delegate interrogation or negotiations. During interrogation for each question asked the interrogator must use /me to describe the interrogation method in detail. The prisoner must respond in character and in a way that is consistent with the method described by the interrogator. The prisoner is allowed to lie, withhold information, and or negotiate the information in exchange for their release. but must roleplay their response based on the interrogation method .the original interrogation rule."

Under the old rule:

- An Interrogator could ask up to three questions, and all of the answers were dependent on chance keeping the game unpredictable and exciting in which:
  • The person being interrogated (the victim) /rolls 100 first. If they win the roll by rolling higher than the interrogator, they’re granted the option to lie about their answer for that specific question. Although changed from before, if the person decides they want to lie they would still have to RP it out based on the interrogation method Ex. Acting in pain.
  • If the interrogator wins the roll, the victim must tell the truth for that question.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
I had looked for anything similar and could not find anything.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- Creates more reward for Kidnapping a person.
- Creates a balanced experience when interrogating someone.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
-
Takes away some minor roleplay / inconsistent roleplay quality every time.
- (Although I still kept a major portion of the roleplay in which if you lie you still have to RP it out)

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
This suggestion should be accepted for a multitude of reasons:

1. Kidnapping has become more rare (at least on the US), and does not happen very often at least not even close to how much it used to happen so most people go through much trouble to kidnap someone just for them to lie on most of their answers whilst screaming in the mic.

2. Interrogations have been very bland and not very rewarding. This is because most people decide to just grunt and lie(specifically with people who may not super serious on roleplay like CI, MTF, etc). This causes most Interrogators to just waste their time as they are either being pathologically lied to whilst torturing someone, and in most situations are rarely given any form of the truth.

3. This would create more tension to kidnappings, making them more engaging. It would also create stronger incentives for factions to maintain treaties and avoid breaking them (especially for SOP/GOIs).

Last 2 times I had someone kidnapped they fully lied when I asked them questions and didn't really care about them getting tortured, and now that I think of it I can do the exact same thing. I miss the old 3 question rule where atleast we had the chance of getting something out of a kidnapped but now I just skip the interrogation part altogether and start negotiating

This is an RP Server, not a "I want to win server". This change is actively detrimental to giving CI insentive to Roleplay. The "/roll 100 so you must now tell the truth" was one of the worst things ever.

Report them to their CO or DPT Leads, or call a sit for FailRP, or make a complaint on them for NITRP. This is more so a US Issue above all else, as UK is good on this regard, but people still have to give a shit. Sure they can resist giving information, but they cannot resist the pain. They literally aren't him.

That's just FailRP if they ignore the torture and RP attempts, feel free to call staff.

Good heavens, I'd have to roleplay instead of getting 3 answers right away.

You would be very surprised how much they do not care, it's a very normal thing on US to just lie through the interrogation and wait for negotiations to start. I actually am proud of UK for not doing this and RPing interrogations out but on the US server it looks like people would much rather take a strike or a warn than give up any information.

gulp.
Strike or get them warned then honestly. This is an RP Server, if you're not here to do that, they don't belong here.
The best thing I can think of is really just stricter staff enforcement on making people Roleplay.

Again, like I said I was pretty unsure about how the UK works or feels about this system. Although its a really gray area for staff as most staff will just give them a verbal again and again every time (and unless I really am in a bad mood no need for me to personally target anyone to get them warned), and most higher rankings seem to be petty enough to believe that "my operative didn't give info away why should I strike him..."

mfw there's Roleplay on my RP server (I must remove it)
As you can see (the orange highlighted) I had kept a major portion of the roleplay (acting in pain in order to lie), I understand people like to withhold some information, but it seems to be a reoccurring issue every single interrogation , and majority of players cannot be trusted with the freedom we currently have in a interrogation as its usually abused. It just adds back a factor of chance which is severely needed on a server like this in which CI-A believes that brutal torture is something he goes through everyday and can withstand.

note* I also made this so something can be put in the rules somewhere, as I cant find it anywhere in the rulebook

Make a complaint for consistent verbals against repeat offenders. Hell, if you call a sit, they get a verbal, you both get returned and they continue, call another sit. If they don't warned after you say they got a verbal, make a complaint on it, and tell the persons Higher Up.

If you don't want to call a sit over it, suck it up, nothing will get done then. That's your loss.

And that last part sounds like those higher rankings are stupid as shit, and shouldn't be in their position if they are considering Winning over Roleplay on the RP Server. At that point you should take it to their higher up, because they shouldn't be in their position if they have an that mindset.
