Steam ID:
STEAM_0:1:94348861

Discord name:
Spina_Ouroboros

For how long have you played on CG SCP:
~3 years

Age:
21

In what country are you located?:
United States

Time zone:
CST

Character name(s):
Ivan Sidorovich

Civilian name:
Ivan Sidorovich

What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA):
SCP-RP USA

Do you have a mic?:
Yes

List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:
- Executive Researcher
- Overseer Assistant
- ISD Operative (I've been forgetting about this one)
- SCP-22415 (1-3)

Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
Sept. 27th, 2022: RDM (probably against a Class-D)

Oct. 1st, 2022: FailRP [A]

Oct. 10th, 2022: FearRP

Oct. 10th, 2022: I received a ban for using SCP-035 to toss people into acid when they tried to report my breach. This was labeled as 'Minor Glitching' and 'No intent to RP'. Honestly, I thought this was a good idea at the time and figured it would be something I was allowed to do.

Dec 2nd, 2022: FearRP [A]

Dec 25th, 2022: FailRP

April 29th, 2025: Metagaming | I was being held by CI for a good bit before SOP found out and purchased me back for ~20k. While I was about to be passed off (unamnesticized), the server crashed. Upon rejoining, I was teleported back and, instead of resuming the trade, Class F'ed and sent inside to do shit. I didn't know this was going to happen, so while the server was down I began discussing things with someone about what happened during CI's interrogation. The person who had me Class F'ed heard about this, and had me warned.

April 30th, 2025: Fail RP | I beamed 096 on the OSA whitelist after an SCU had already beamed & bucketed him.

Why are you applying for Director of Research?:
I'm applying for the position of Director so that I may attempt to reform Research in large portions. I'd like to sit down, take a look at all the restrictions & guidelines, and rewrite a majority of them. As well, I've been wanting to bring a more RP-heavy focus to Research through sub-divisions directed and ran by Executives. Not only do I think they'd give each corner of Research their own little privileges where they can thrive and grow, but it would also work to give Executives experience in leadership for when they eventually have the chance to apply for DoR. To make this short, I have a lot I want to change.

What makes you suitable for Director of Research?:
While I've occupied several high-ranking positions in the 10+ years I've been playing SCP-RP servers, I've really only held two Cl4 positions within the Civil Networks Community. That being said, I still believe myself more than capable of handling the position here. I am generally on all-day, and I keep a constant eye on Researchers (even when not flagged on Executive). When it comes to the large majority of Research, I act towards them with the intent of weeding out certain behaviors while pushing the players towards a greater RP focus; that's not to say that I'm against a whimsical take towards research, but instead a less destructive focus (Researchers selling lobotomies & chemicals, killing people by throwing them to SCPs, or throwing SCPs to people to kill them) when it comes to testing and overall behavior.

What are the responsibilities of the Director of Research in RP?:
The responsibilities of the Director of Researcher are numerous. You have to keep watch over the Executives, ensuring they do their jobs while also lookout of for disruption through the rest of the Research Department. You keep the documentation & guidelines up to date with the Site's progression, and manage any violations against those guidelines. The DoR must also enhance the 'Research Experience' by providing situations (both for Research & other Departments) in which others may interact and channel their ideas into actions. The most important of the DoR's responsibilities, in my eyes, is ensuring the server doesn't suffer from the actions of any member of Research.

Please give some lore about your Director of Research character and what storylines they would be involved in:
The fancied-up version of this is still a W.I.P., so for now I will be providing my Pac & Lore Request post for this section:

As for what I would be involved in, my primary focus when it comes to Ivan is the Occult & Religious Anomalies. It allows me to apply my many years of Theology courses into the position, and it's worked out well so far. What I would bring to the table (in terms of storylines) is my Project 'Galliard', which involves a mirad of performance, musical, and occult-orientated anomalies in the possible final goal of an anomalous orchestra.

Huge +Support, Ivan is a great executive researcher that worked closely with our previous DoRs. Not only has he shown great leadership skills and passion in what he does, he has shown determination in the completion of projects and other activities assigned to our department. I am wishing you luck, just as the others because you are all qualified for the role.

How do you plan to enforce department wide policies?
Policies on the US will be announced through the discord, and a Notice board will be placed around Research Wing explaining in short-detail what has been added/changed. In the upcoming (as in, I've yet to fully organize it) meeting between ISD, GenSec, and Research Clearance 4 holders, I'm aiming to crack down on Research more than I have been as Senior Executive. We'll discuss policy change in that meeting, and what IS changed will be put on display for all to see. After that, enforcement is simply left up to the trust I have (very little) in people to enforce the rules provided to them. Should they ignore policy and rules, they'll be reprimanded as we've done in the past and present; a warning with information on the changes being provided, jail-time, mandatory lecture, etc.

I mean more like if a Senior Researcher has a document that doesn't follow multiple basic research department policies labeled in the
[SCPRP-US] Research Policy and you find out that an executive has signed it. To ensure nothing like that ever happens again, how do you plan to educate researchers on these policies so that they are followed in the future without fail? And making sure that Executive is informed properly on what is required in a document before he just gives his signature away again?

In the case of a Senior Researcher, I would sit them down and go over their violations with them as a type of warning. I'd look at what they did wrong, and explain such to them as well as the proper way to do it. The same goes for the Executive; provide the proper way to go about things, and hope that the two of them listen. After all of that, I'd leave it up to them to abide by the policies and whatnot in-place. If they continue to repeat what they did before (of course, depending on WHAT it was) it escalates from 'warning' to whatever may be next.
