I do RP a lot as a coroner; you can ask around the USA DoM employees. The jacket would be worn while I'm outside the medbay (collecting the bodies/bodybags), while the apron version would be worn while performing one of many daily autopsies (sitting in the surgery room to write the autopsy documents).
Both versions have small details, for example: hat, gloves (on and off), glasses, aprons (white and blue colors), blood on aprons (on and off) etc.
