Subject: Jankers Jankerson Jank
It has recently been discovered that one of the janitors at Site-65, known as Jankers, legal name Jankers Jankerson Jank, possesses the ability to perceive the spirits of deceased Site personnel, as well as other unidentified spirits. He first reported these visions while on approved vacation days under the supervision of a licensed psychiatrist, assigned to monitor his condition both on and off duty. The following is an excerpt from the psychiatrist’s journal:
“He stares at the wall for extended periods of time. After this, he begins describing a man he ‘sees,’ and the clothing he mentions appears completely out of the current time period. He also states he sees his parents, all of whom are deceased except for his grandfather. After doing my research, I found that his descriptions of clothing matched individuals who had died at the site, as well as his relatives—records of whom are extremely detailed. He has even corrected my mistakes when I questioned him. He has a blunt head injury, yet somehow he still corrects me.”
Further testing involved equipping the psychiatrist with standard ghost-detection tools, such as an EMF reader, and assigning Jankers to various remote locations where deaths had occurred. He consistently identified what the spirit was wearing, the spirit’s physical state, and EMF spikes aligned with his descriptions. In each case, the EMF reader activated, and he correctly described the deceased individual. However, the spirits did not appear to communicate verbally; he reported only faint gurgling noises.
Jankers’s abilities seem stronger when the spirit is a relative. He refers to this as a “Connection,” during which he hears faint whispers and claims to see them more vividly. He also reports a numb physical sensation related to their manner of death. All spirits he encounters appear peaceful and lack any harmful abilities such as object manipulation or possession. According to him, his relatives’ spirits are unable to reveal who or what killed them—possibly due to a “sacred law”—though this remains unverified, as Jankers’s mental state may interfere with accurate interpretation.
This ability also explains his unusual comfort with SCP-513-1, whom he refers to as “Bob.” Because his ability is perceptual only, with no means of interacting with spirits, Jankers is not currently classified as an SCP—merely an individual with an anomalous sensory capability.
