Jankers Jankerson lore

Jankers was born on June 7, 1933, in the USSR. His parents were in the process of escaping the country when they were caught by a KGB officer. Charged with treason, attempted escape, and being British soldiers, they were executed—hanged on meat hooks in 1934. At just a year old, Jankers was forced to witness their deaths. However, the trauma faded as he forgot the event by the age of three.

He was then placed in an unspecified orphanage in the USSR, where he remained until he was 16. At that age, he was forced into heavy labor. By 28, he hatched a plan to escape the country. He successfully fled the USSR and made it to Britain. However, due to World War II-related tensions, he relocated to Canada.

With minimal formal education, Jankers turned to self-study, focusing on research and the paranormal—subjects that helped distract him from his feelings of loneliness. By age 38, he had completed his education, and at 41, he was hired at Site [REDACTED]. He later transferred to another site, rising to the rank of Senior Researcher.

However, at age 57, an incident changed his life forever. During an experiment with SCP-939, the creature attacked him, releasing a chemical that induced amnesia and launching him through a wall, where he hit his head on a pipe. He survived, waking up in the medical bay, but the trauma left him with symptoms resembling dementia.

Deemed unfit to continue in his previous role, Jankers was demoted to a technical expert and janitor due to his background in engineering. His achievements were stripped away, and he became a subject of ridicule among staff. Over time, he developed severe depression, dementia, and signs of psychosis, particularly triggered by mentions of the Soviet Union—reflecting his traumatic past.

Despite treatment, his mental condition deteriorated. He eventually became permanently assigned to technical and custodial work. Now 92 years old, Jankers is one of the site’s oldest living personnel. He lives in fear of anything related to the Soviet Union, emotionally unstable and deeply affected by the life he’s lived.
