Why are you applying for Director of Research?
- The Director position became available after the unfortunate resignation of Department Director Scott De Jong. When he stepped down, I found myself questioning whether remaining an Executive was truly the right path for me. I kept wondering if taking on the responsibilities of Department Director might simply be too much. but after a bit of thought and contemplation on whether i would be up to it, i decided to become Department director to further improve Research as a whole, I want researchers to be able to explore more option without having to be tied down to certain people being there or a requirement that relies on a person that you don't know being online for a simple 1 Hr. to just sign a document or talk to other people.
- My other motivation is my stagnation in research and what i can do.
- As an Executive Researcher, I’ve always valued the time and potential of the lower clearance members of all staff. I believe in giving them opportunities to interact with other departments and providing them with areas where they can work and conduct testing they genuinely enjoy. Research isn’t about a single field; research is about everything. And for a researcher to explore everything, there needs to be someone who can guide them. We stand beside them and support them, but we also give them the chance to explore in their own way and with their own methods. let a researcher find out that this SCP is dangerous, let them do their testing to truly learn from mistakes, let them laugh about the results, what the d-class do, and how other departments interact with something that appeared during their testing, if they wanted to repeat the test over and over, i say let them. i give researchers and other members a chance to truly explore themselves about all these things.
- In terms of documentation, I’ll admit I’m definitely not the best. However, when it comes to getting documentation completed, I always ensure it’s done on time and handled swiftly.
- I try my best to be friendly with everyone. It’s always a “good day, gentlemen”, relations with people always leads to good RP and an overall great experience for people joining the server, people look towards you better this way and leads to overall great memories.
- Be the level headed person who guides others toward RP that encourages interaction with different departments.
- Guide people in your department and help them allocate their work, speeding up their processes.
- Allocate Executive Researchers and their tasks, helping maintain a steady ship that won’t sink.
- Authorize certain dangerous tests.
- Handle senior CL4 responsibilities that require a high level of attention and care.
- Handling certain people that cause issues that require a Department directors supervision.
- enforce policies that help keep RSD from being too chaotic and making sure that those policies don't restrict researchers from doing the testing they want to do.
- Keeping Research engaging and giving people a way to look at research from different perspectives where they can truly enjoy it.
Dr. John Old Man grew up in a fog covered town marked by radio towers, where he developed an early habit of listening for patterns in static. As a child, he sketched thresholds and boundaries doorways, shadows, and seams between environments that later became the foundation of his professional focus. He studied physics privately and apprenticed under a cartographer who believed maps retained memory of their travelers. By thirty, he was working at the Institute for Applied Topology; by forty, his unconventional publications had earned him both ridicule and reluctant respect. The designation “Old Man” became standard among colleagues, reflecting his persistence and eccentricity.
John 'Old' Man, with his interesting testing, has been questioned many times about his methods. It reached a point where even a member of Site Administration began to question his sanity. People started noticing John speaking gibberish, talking nonsense, and giving off the sense that he wasn’t in the right state of mind. But whenever confronted, John would deny their assumptions, even when Medical performed a psychological evaluation on him.
On 12/03/████, Executive John 'old' man was brought to questioning regarding his "Actions" as of lately,

Executive John 'old' man: so then I go tell the guy it's part of policy I mean the testing literally says I can test on this there's nothing saying I can't do it you know I'm doing a normal test and then he's dragging me in here like I did something wrong and I'm sitting here thinking you can talk to my boss or whoever you want you can file whatever papers you feel like but just let me do my testing it's not like I'm doing anything wrong so why am I even being brought in here I did nothing wrong there's nothing I broke in the policy nothing at all
ISD Investigator Danial Johnson: [No audio input]
Executive John 'old' man: you're gonna stay quiet like that you know just keep looking at me not gonna tell me what's happening or what I did I feel like I did everything right I followed policy it all seems like it's been done by the book and now I'm sitting here wondering why I'm even in this room.
ISD Investigator Danial Johnson: John, you've been brought to ISD for questioning regarding your recent behavior. You've been heard speaking nonsense and gibberish, to the point where some personnel have begun asking if you are mentally stable.
Executive John 'old' man: [No audio input]
ISD Investigator Danial Johnson: Look, all I want to ask is if you’re okay and if everything is fine with you. People have been watching your tests, and day by day they’re starting to wonder if you’ve lost your marbles.
Executive John 'old' man: you taught me the limits of drawing lines and I’ve stayed within them every step, so I don’t see why anyone’s acting like I crossed a line when I followed everything exactly as we set it.
ISD Investigator Danial Johnson: I’m sorry, John, who exactly taught you that? Because I don’t know what you’re referring to.
Executive John 'old' man: What?
ISD Investigator Danial Johnson: [No audio input]
Executive John 'old' man: huh?
ISD Investigator Danial Johnson: ...right. okay. look, if that’s your statement, then… fine. you’re free to go. just… go back to your department.
