What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
- Decrease the maximum amount of CI online to 10
- Make CI a 40 slot regiment

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:

Not to my knowledge

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- Less emphasis on combativeness.
- Less disruption to roleplay on surface.
- Puts CI vs GOC and CI vs F on a more fair playing field on surface.
- More importance placed on deep covers and sabotage, which is better roleplay than the standard raid.

- Players who are only here for CI combat leave the server, or learn to roleplay. Players who are only here for PVP as CI clearly have "No Intention To Roleplay" (NITRP) which shouldn't be encouraged.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:

- Disrupts the balance of the server.
- Unforeseen effects on SOP.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
In my opinion, the root of the majority of the problems on the server stem from CI. Players are funneled into CI, an inherently non-roleplay faction, and never learn roleplay skills that would benefit the quality of the server. instead, they adopt a winning mentality and only care about stats such as KD.

Players who are only here for combat should not exist on the server. It's fine to have some level of combat and to enjoy it, but if all you do is shoot the other faction and you have no idea what to do outside of it, you shouldn't be on this server.

By shrinking CI to be a minor faction, they are forced to leverage RP tools, like UNGOC is. They won't be able to dominate surface and make it a non-roleplay zone as they have in the past with such ease.

Ah, yes, instead of thinking of good ideas, or asking for the introduction of better RP mechanics, lets kill an entire regiment because I don't like that they have guns.

What roleplay? Nothing happens up there besides a skeleton beating civilians to death while CI and GOC sit around AFK

4 MTFs totalling 180 total cap, and another GOI totalling another 65, and DEA, which has no cap vs. 40 CI (10 at a time). This guy might know math!

Deep Covers after using 50K worth of energy weapons and 100K of chems to kill 5 Nu-7 so the 8 remaining CI can enter through vents (The Nu-7 already called out their deaths in Teamspeak and respawned)

This server promotes Perma-Weapons, and 70% of it's changelogs are terrible attempts at "Weapon Balancing" PvP oriented players are a core part of the server, you can't do anything about it without nearly killing it, sucks, but it's true!

Your skill issues overcome all, and you finally kill Johnson by outnumbering him 80 to 10?

"SOP Dies off, and then so does the GOC because there's nobody to interact with them, and then Research because there is no GOC to spice things up or combatives to keep things under control, and then everything else with it because Research is the core of an SCP server" is what you're looking for here.

This post is a giant skill issue.
this almost sums up this entire thing + it’s a SGM saying it which makes it even better 😂

Update: Surely this is ragebait

Hi @Jeremy Bennett

Due to the nature of this suggestion, I've elected to make a custom response to fully tackle this. We're aware that CI can, at times, be disruptive towards RP with their raids, this is in part due to the gameplay loop of CI, and the very build-up of the faction, both in-game and in-lore. They have recently seen a fair few nerfs to make it so this disruption does not last an excessive amount of time, which has greatly reduced this issue. Some of these nerfs include:

- CI TB nerfs
- CI Jug no longer revivable
- Second D-Block door addition

And this is without bringing up the addition of the Nu-7 jug, and the up-and-coming changes to warfunds, which will further impact how CI and surface as a whole act.

In relation to CI, SL are monitoring the situation to ensure their raids are fair and fun for all factions, but the idea that simply 'removing CI' or lowering their slots to such an amount will 'fix the server' is just not the case. While you may dislike combat, Foundation does possess the edge over CI with 4 entire MTFs, and departments such as DEA/ISD/GENSEC, which are all able to respond to raids, thus cutting down raid limits to only 10-man teams would prevent all raids from doing anything outside of downtime.

This weakening of CI would remove a large part of the gameplay from Nu-7/DEA/GOC, as they'd become too weak to put up a fight, and thus all urgency to gather intel or strive to be better with trainings and tactic innovations would be out the window as Foundation wins by default. Regardless of personal opinions, these groups do rely on CI being a threat to function, and while they may get by with minor duties, without a capable GOI to offer up a challenge, then Nu-7 and DEA will just beat down the few CI players that remain in the faction until it becomes completely empty.

Finally, in regards to NITRP from CI, this is a rule break, and if you have generally witnessed such things, I highly recommend you put in a complaint on those involved.

We're continuing to monitor the situation, but any vast changes like these are not in the books at this moment, and we'll need to see how CI develops with the already in-place changes, and the addition of warfunds, which will reshuffle the deck completely.
