Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?
I decided to re-apply for Executive Researcher because since returning I've spent almost all my time on the server in RSD once again. The only reason for my leave from Executive last time was due to personal IRL issues that I'd rather not publicly disclose. My care for research remains the same and I believe that my abilities to fit the role have only improved from my prior experience. Additionally, I believe the department is rather lacking in the CL4 area as it currently stands, with there only being 3 executives currently and with my prior experience as an Executive I feel like I may be a good asset to have.
What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
Prior Experience:
As stated in my previous application, I've been active in the research department for most of my 3 years on the server, it has been my go-to department for any new character that I wish to play as and often find myself attempting to encourage new players to join it as well. As such, I've had experience on every role in Research (other than Director) and I think that this would be beneficial in the department's current position.
Care:
I care for the department as a whole, from the way it functions to the members. I believe the department is in a rather good position currently, however it is lacking in Executives and I often see a lack of CL4 RSD on-site. I am quite active and though I may be writing documents or making PACs fairly often I am almost always free to respond to others and help them in their endeavours/tasks at short notice.
Involvement of others and RP creation:
I feel like in my prior experience as an Executive I was able to create RP that involved other members of the department, as well as making members feel included in the department as a whole in general. Due to this, I believe that I'll be able to do it again and likely more effectively due to the prior experience and knowledge I have gained. Similarly to last time, I am currently a GM. This does not mean I am any better of a candidate compared to others, but as a GM I can help the department with more interesting tests and outcomes. I have already been doing this, and will continue to do so regardless of this applications result, however it would be nice to do this as an Executive.
How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?
As Thistle and other characters I had written a few, unsure of specific numbers. Adelaide currently has not submitted any documents of her own, but is working on 2-3 projects IC.
Documentation is the lifeline of the research department. Though not every researcher's favourite task, it serves to document the roleplay that has been created by the department and events that have taken place. As such, documentation should be well written and well formatted, to encourage this we have the approval/grading system in place.
To receive an excellent grade on a document, and the monetary reward inline with the grade, there are several requirements that must be checked off:
- Minimal (ideally 0) spelling/punctuation errors.
- Beneficial to the Foundation's mission statement.
- Effective use of imagery.
- High levels of detail.
- Clear effort in formatting. (Can occasionally stray from default formats if it was to make sense.)
- Outlined or clear use for conclusion/findings.
What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:
An Executive Researcher is expected to carry out several responsibilities, both within the department and around the site as a whole due to being CL4 personnel.
Site-Wide Responsibilities:
- Blast Door management.
- Breach Shelter management.
- Electrical Room management.
- Usage of EOC.
- Be an example for lower clearance personnel.
RSD Responsibilities:
- Approval of submitted documentation, as well as issuing feedback and monetary rewards where applicable.
- Assist in the creation of RP for the department as a whole.
- Onboard new members of the department and remind old members of their role when they stray from it.
- Again, be an example for the department.
