What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Change both the Lobby Elevator BD and EZ Maintenance BD to be CL3 instead of CL4 like very old lobby and allow them to be manually closed at any time, rather than only being closable during FSL.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Nothing similar has been suggested, as far as I can find.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- Allows Foundation to close the Lobby Elevator and Maintenance BDs when necessary, making it more difficult for SCPs or hostiles to quickly reach the surface.
- Makes Code Blacks and other emergency situations easier to manage by allowing Foundation to secure important routes without requiring FSL.
- Gives the Foundation more control over site security and allows personnel to react to breaches or threats more effectively.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- SCPs may have a more difficult time reaching or escaping to the surface if both Blast Doors are closed. (Is that really an issue?)
- Foundation personnel could potentially close the doors too frequently or unnecessarily, slowing down movement through the site.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
The positives outweigh the potential negatives. This change would give the Foundation the ability to secure the Lobby Elevator and Maintenance routes whenever necessary, rather than limiting this capability exclusively to FSL.
Although SCPs may have a harder time reaching the surface, this is an intended security benefit and would still depend on Foundation personnel actively closing and managing the Blast Doors. CI should also not be affected at all, as the doors would only require a CL3 which is very easy to hack/obtain.
Overall, the change would improve the Foundation's ability to respond to Code Blacks, breaches, and other emergencies while giving people more control over important access points without requiring FSL or harming balance.
