What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
I want this suggestion to add someway of knowing where the person who pressed their panic button is. I have two versions of the suggestion.

1: Makes a team marker, like the binoculars marker, at the location their standing when they press their panic button.
OR
2: Make it say in the chat the rough location where they pressed it, like "Player activated their panic button in Entrance Zone"

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:

Don't think so.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):

People would know where the panic button was pressed.
There won't be a need for everyone to spam "/c loc" in chat when someone presses their button.
Faster response to panic buttons.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:

It could be too overpowered in some situations, like CI trying to kidnap people and getting instantly called out.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:

It would make it easier to know the rough location of where a panic button was pressed, and would be a bit more RP realistic.

Things like this I think would require regional stuff to be set up - I get that with the big panic button change, we lost being able to specialise panic buttons; I think it would make sense to have a kind of panic button that gives an approximate location - I know there was discourse about specialised panic buttons in the past where people would make panic button binds all like "I'm being kidnapped by A-1" and stuff - That kind of stuff is a little silly, I agree - I'm thinking more 'general area' type setups (Surface, Compound, EZ, CS, Medbay, D-Block, LCZ, HCZ, etc.), because 9 times out of 10 when someone panic buttons... It's kinda useless, because nobody really knows the location. Everyone always asks for a loc in comms because it's like, okay, you pressed your panic button. Can't do a whole lot with that info.

But again, this requires the actual programmatic quantification of map regions - Which would then need to be updated with map changes. I honestly think we should have a system like that, but I think we'd need more features that use it, to justify its implementation. And then we need to consider balance on top of that, like obviously anything map-region related is going to be more of an F buff than anything else (unless it's some kind of offensive change that benefits raids or SCPs in some way)

I think being able to do a panic button-type thing at announcement boxes that gives that location would be helpful, too. Not sure that explicitly would need region definition? but I don't know how those work behind the scenes, so.
