What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This tool will allow the user to unlock filing cabinets that they do not have access to, whether it be due to clearance or faction lock. The way I see the tool doing this is either by the user clicking and holding for a duration of roughly 20 to 30 seconds maybe more or less, that is something that is just going to have to be tweaked as time goes on, or there will be some kind of minigame that the user has to complete similar to the hacking tool. While the cabinet is being picked a distinct metallic clicking sounds so that others nearby can hear it and attempt to track it down. The main purpose of this tool is to allow Foundation/CI/UNGOC to be able to steal documents from one another during raids/infils. This tool would only be given to the following people.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
This is the first time something like this has been suggested, as far as I'm aware.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
1. This tool would enhance gameplay by adding new targets for raiders. allowing them to steal important documents that would normally be unobtainable.
2. This would also make sense within RP because it is reasonable to think that highly trained operatives that deal with anomalous beings on a daily basis would be able to break into a filing cabinet with relative ease.
3. This change would also remove the guaranteed safety of a document in a filing cabinet, forcing people to be strategic where they put their documents to negate their chances of being stolen by a rival faction.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
The only negative I can personally see is someone using the tool to access their own faction's filing cabinets, however this can be fixed by adding a feature that prohibits the user from lockpicking their own faction's filing cabinets.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
I believe this would benefit all factions by adding more opportunities to steal important documents during raids, which would give way to more RP scenarios. I would love to see this added or at least something similar, but this may be due to personal preference or bias, so I am curious to see what everyone else thinks.
