What does this suggestion add/change/remove?
Make it so that 079 isn't locked in his CC when not breached, But keep him muted and make the ability a whitelist or make it be removable for people who abuse it.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?
Not to my knowledge, Searching the forums for certain posts is dog though.

Possible Positives of the suggestion:
It would make waiting for an 079 less of a slog to wait his queue.
I can spy on people :D
It would allow 079 to learn the layout of the map and to get used to the quirks of using no-clip on CN.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
Abuse. 100% people would try to find some wild way to abuse this, Hence the whitelist to even be able to do this.

Based on the Positives &; Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
Most of the time when you are waiting to breach as 079 its for hours. Currently I just watch YT while waiting 4 hours for a breach that will last at tops 10 minutes. At least other SCP's get tested for sampled so they have SOMETHING to do. I've seen/heard of a grand total of FOUR 079 tests in my 3 months being here, So 079 doesn't get interacted with often.

To be honest, I have zero idea how you programming nerds would even do this, But it would be very cash money.

Its the price for being a CL4 SCP, you get basically no testing if no Exec researcher is willing to plan a test on you

Most of the time i flag on as 079 i just check the queue, if im lucky and get first position and theres <1h of waiting, ill wait for breach, if not, i play something else

At least other SCPs as you said get sampled, so you can actually interact with other players

Only issue I see is CI or GOC hopping on 079 to get Intel on where people are and how security on site is...

Metagaming is almost impossible to prove if done carefully, and if 079 was given free range to spectate everything, metagaming would DEFINITELY come if it...

Still + support. Waiting for a breach is hella boring. Basically 4-6+ hours of not playing the game for a breach that lasts maybe 10-30 minutes

I feel like the only way you're getting this, is in the form of something you'd have to make a ticket for, just so it's traceable to some extent. As good as it would seem from 079's perspective to just let this be something it naturally has while unbreached, as a lot of people have said, this makes so many other things so much more complicated.

Yes, having this be something that you could get approved means that you'd need to be dependant on someone being able to do that for you, but it also means that it can be reasonably controlled and somewhat easier to tell when it's abused. Would be nice to have something like this be possible for other SCPs, too. Be kinda funny for all the SCPs having 'an out of body experience' spectate some wacky gathering in CS.

Playing as an SCP is practically a punishment unless you are about to be breached or tested. Someone even said it here, unless they’re about to be breached they don’t even bother waiting in queue.

There needs to be something to add to an SCP’s gameplay other than “Hey sit AFK in this queue for 3 hours for 10-20 minutes of gameplay. Don’t go too AFK though just in case someone needs sampling and you get kicked for being AFK!”

Uh now thinking about it, if they can’t talk then how will they do testing when they are in their CC. Because if it gets bugged then you won’t be able to speak anywhere at all.
Likely would be something you'd have to open a ticket for and at worst, staff would probably need to silent slay you.

This also got me thinking about the breach system as a whole. I think it could benefit from a larger redesign, so I'll make a separate suggestion for that. A more dynamic, realism-focused breach system would naturally solve the issue of "things for AFK SCPs to do" by giving said players meaningful objectives and opportunities to actively work toward creating their own containment failures, encouraging them to stay engaged rather than waiting for scheduled breaches.

I Agree with this. Make it so staff have to set the flag so that it's traceable if someone breaks some rules.
