Age: 31
In what country are you located?: US
Time zone: PST
Character name(s): Mason Weskier
Civilian name: Frank Weskier
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): SCP-RP USA
Do you have a mic?: Yes
-
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held: RSD Specialist Researcher, RSD Executive Researcher
-
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?: No, N/A
-
Why are you applying for Director of Research?: Slot became available, saw the opportunity, and knowing how much our other DoR needs help, I'm looking to provide what iv been doing as an Executive and move up with it. Provide more RP opportunities, help more people out, shape up RSD more than i already have, and try to make everything progress as smooth as possible.
-
What makes you suitable for Director of Research?: My mission from a Sr. researcher and forward has been mission support or 'jack-of-all-trades' within management assistance of RSD. I have created new standard documents that will go into effect as of August 1st, already approved, rated all as 'Perfect' documents. And I look to continue upgraded to need-be changing situations in the future. I have also been running the Specialist's 'Trustee Program'. I currently am the spearhead for paying back of owed doc grades from the past that couldn't be paid out due to funding or just never knew it was to be paid out by the grading individual. and trying to make sure Researchers that get in trouble are properly trained for Standard Operational Procedure.
So, Paper pushing, Management, Treasury, and Administration. Im already doing it.
-
What are the responsibilities of the Director of Research in RP?: The DoR looks to be more about Management and Administration over actually doing studies, but still occasionally conducts the wider Project and events. Managing things like docs on secondary. Trying to provide good RP for the department and others. And inter-department relations. Of course still doing sign offs of studies, projects, grading docs, and overseeing others. As Executive also does.

Please give some lore about your Director of Research character and what storylines they would be involved in:
In the beginning, Mason Weskier started at Burger King learning how to manage people and events... Then later... After many jobs later. After military service later...
One day, While job searching with a desire to help others with as little direct confrontation as possible, a special job offer popped up through an anonymous email, the Foundation.
A year later, and now apart of the Foundation Research team as a Junior Researcher, Weskier saw that alot of the RSD had a lack of some polish in its operations, documents, and clear paths of opportunities.
Working with the years that he accumulated with managing others, paper pushing, and documentation creation - Weskier applied himself to show what he could do by making the 'Behavioral Assessment Report - Riot Prevention Initiative' to help curve D-Class Rioting by trying to discover their issues in D-Block. This quickly turned into a site-wide 'Behavioral Assessment Report' (BAR) conducting behavioral and information gathering across RSD, ISD, E-11, GenSec, and D-Class. The final report has been posted across site in each corresponding department.
This report started from his time as a Jr. to his Sr. days as a Researcher. And with the creation of the Pocket-Guide, repeated help of large projects, successfully leading and completing 2 large Ethics provided projects, and assisting those equal and under him at RSD - He was then eventually elevated to a Specialist where he went further to help in his department by incorporating Jr to Sr researchers into new avenues of research and aid markers for them to better understand and fit into the RSD space.
He later achieved a position where he can help as much as he could by becoming an Executive in the RSD, finally able to create new templates to replace old ones, updating department policies, running the Specialist program he once presided in, paying out others for old documentation, and opening up cross-department lines of research for Jrs to Srs to widen their scopes.
And now, Weskier looks to take a step where he will be his most uncomfortable, but knowing he will be most needed as well. Not only for his friends and colleges, but also for research and development. Already briefed in highly classified information, in the middle of creating new facets and systems to better contain SCPs, he looks to continue without letting off.
