What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
-Change the distance that /me and /looc can be heard in chat equal to the distance of /y

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Probably not, Didn't see any prior suggestions

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- No longer having to spam /looc again because the guy i was trying to talk to moved 3 feet back.
- since /me displays actions, realistically you would be able to see it from a greater distance either way.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
None, I quite literally don't see how this can negatively affect anything. Outside of it being use for "metagaming" though... i don't even understand how that would be possible

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
Really small QoL update if anything, don't know if it'd be hard to code or change but would be a nice additon!

/me's are suppose to be very local range as if you are far away, you aren't supposed to see everything.

But a /it which is a descriptor, i don't see an issue on range extension, though keep in mind it will go through walls likely and cause people outside of a room to know what's going on as AFAIK it doesn't do a raycast to check where walls are (i could be wrong) @Jacub Confirm

What are the tolerances on the ranges? Are you able to specify radii in hammer units or is it literally just s pick of say, yell, etc. ranges? Because I get /me or /looc not having equivalent range to /y - But IMO I feel their range is still too short. Is there no more ability fine-tune it than this?

But yes having used these a bunch myself, I can personally confirm that they all go through walls.
