What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why?
I am applying for the Ethics Committee Member (ECM) position.I believe I have reached a point where I am ready to take the next step within the Ethics Committee. During my time as an ECA a, I have gained experience working with different departments, handling situations involving personnel, and understanding how the Ethics Committee operates.
While I enjoy my current position, I believe becoming an ECM would allow me to contribute on a much larger scale. I would have the ability to create more meaningful RP, assist ECAs and ISD, and take on greater responsibilities within the site.
I also believe I can bring new ideas to the Committee. I want to help reduce repetitive RP and create more engaging situations for both Ethics personnel and the departments they interact with. My goal as an ECM would not simply be to hold the position, but to actively contribute to the department and improve the RP experience for others.
What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?
I believe there are several reasons why I would be a strong candidate for ECM.1. Activity and Availability
I am very active as an ECA, and I would consider ECA one of the roles I spend the most time playing. Because of this, I am frequently available to answer questions, assist personnel, and participate in RP when needed. My activity would also allow me to remain involved with the day-to-day operations of the Ethics Committee rather than only appearing for major situations.
2. Creating More RP
One of my main goals as an ECM would be to create more engaging RP for ECAs, ISD, and other departments. In my opinion, some of the current orders can become repetitive over time. If given the opportunity, I would like to create approximately one order or larger RP scenario each week when appropriate.
I would take ideas from existing orders and improve upon them while also developing my own. My goal would be to create scenarios that give ECAs and ISD meaningful roles instead of simply giving them another task to complete.
3. Experience Across Departments
My experience as both an ECA and Medical Consultant has allowed me to see the server from different perspectives. I understand both the administrative side of Ethics and the operational side of departments such as Medical.I believe this experience would help me make more reasonable decisions as an ECM and create RP that involves multiple departments rather than focusing solely on Ethics.

- Authorizing the detonation of the site nuclear device when all other options have failed.
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP?
The Ethics Committee is also responsible for maintaining the department and working with site leadership outside of RP.These responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with other departments and site leadership to improve the overall RP experience.
- Ensuring the FLC and Code of Ethics remain accurate and up to date.
- Updating documentation when necessary.

Character Lore
During Morningstar's time as an ECA, a containment breach involving SCP-049 resulted in several medical personnel being exposed. The infected personnel were immediately placed into quarantine.
The Medical Team requested additional time to develop a treatment, while Security pushed for the immediate termination of the infected personnel to prevent the situation from escalating.
Morningstar was assigned to oversee the situation. Rather than allowing either side to make an emotional decision, he ordered the infected personnel to remain isolated while Medical continued treatment under increased security.
As the situation progressed, one patient's condition deteriorated beyond recovery. After reviewing the available evidence and consulting with the personnel involved, Morningstar authorized the patient's termination.
The decision was later reviewed by the Ethics Committee. Although it was a difficult decision, Morningstar demonstrated that he was capable of remaining impartial when faced with a situation where there was no perfect outcome.
His handling of the SCP-049 incident further increased the Committee's trust in him. More importantly, it demonstrated that Morningstar could make difficult decisions, accept responsibility for those decisions, and place the safety and interests of the Foundation above personal feelings.
These qualities would later become important factors in his consideration for promotion to a full Ethics Committee Member.
