What makes you the best candidate for Ethics Committee Assistant?:
I believe I would be an excellent candidate for Ethics Committee Assistant because I am fairly active, friendly, and have an understanding of the Letter of the law and the spirit. I have also shown on a multitude of occasions my willingness to role-play any situation, whether I fully understand it or not. During my tenure as an Internal Security Inspector, I have sought through multiple roleplay situations to increase my own and the RP experience of others around me. I have participated in at least one tribunal to increase roleplay that involved medical and O-1. I also have a multitude of experience while playing as a previous member of E-11, writing roleplay documents that contribute to or further RP. I have written documents mostly for members like Overseer assistants, providing information on reality benders, SCP situations, ETC. I am fairly active, attempting to be on almost every other day. If you asked those around me, they would tell you I work hard to earn what I wish to, and I do not slack off on whatever task I am given. All of this has helped me gain the experience I believe I would need as an Ethics Committee Assistant. It has taught me how to be resilient, remain in character, provide roleplay to others, keep bias out of issues, and how to handle conflict that may turn disrespectful or that others may take to heart. My primary goal is to bring more roleplay to others that maybe sitting or not doing anything at the time. For all of these reasons, I believe I am one of the best candidates for Ethics Committee Assistant.
What are the responsibilities of Ethics Committee Assistants in RP?:
Ethics Committee Assistants are responsible for a multitude of things. This could be ensuring that the Foundation legal Codex is maintained throughout the site, personnel are acting ethically and within procedure, handling more menial tasks for the Ethics Committee, and reporting ethically questionable situations to the Ethics Committee. To explain this more, they can make sure the foundation legal codex is being enforced via the Internal Security Department (making reports and whatnot). They can additionally oversee divisions during operations such as GSD during sweeps, ISD during audits, E-11 during standard operating times, ETC. They also represent the Ethics Committee as a whole. They are the face for them when a member is not available, and for bringing anything that requires immediate attention. They also conduct audits from time to time, making sure that there are no info leaks, ethical violations in documents, or unserious documents pinned/written to information boards. They are especially important when it comes to the Internal Security Department. The Ethics Committee Assistants often act as arbitrators for felony level charges, seeing if someone could fight their current charges, keeping the Internal Security Department in check, and ensuring ethical standards are upheld at all times. Another department that they are especially important to them is the Department of Research. Some tests can be morally questionable and must be run through the Ethics Committee. These assistants are pivotal in rooting out and inspecting these tests to make sure whatever risk needs to be accepted is worth the price being paid. Lastly, the menial task. The Menial task of the Ethics Committee would be collecting statements of situations that the Ethics Committee may be interested in, writing documented reports on situations, ETC. All of these would be the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee Assistants.
Please provide some lore about your Ethics Committee Assistant character and the storylines they would be involved in: Johnson Mortanus was born in Germany. His early life was nothing special. he developed a practical outlook on things and a strong appreciation for honesty. He initially joined the Bundespolizei (Federal German Police), where he participated in multiple investigations. Some of these investigations involved mass murders by an unknown entity. Eventually, his efforts caught the attention of the German branch of the foundation. He was eventually assigned to the Internal Investigation department, where his background in law Enforcement best suited him. He spent years investigating individuals for ethics violations and arrested those who were found guilty. During this time many knew him for being blunt, straightforward, which occasionally made most conversations straightforward and sometimes uncomfortable. The thing that did make him stand out from the others was his Impartial judgement and unwavering acknowledgment to procedure. He was seen for his impartial judgement and drive for getting results; his request to transfer to the Canadian Branch was accepted. When he transferred, he brought his impartial judgement, harsh regulation, and drive for justice to all of those within the foundation, and he was recognized by members of the Ethics Committee. This recognition got him the position of an Ethics Committee Assistant, where he is to this day.
