NGL it is way harder to be a SR. CL4 in Research, GSD, and Medical compared to other departments.

the best solution to being 'stuck in a department' is to expand outwards rather than upwards, speaking from personal experience, i haven't held nearly any senior cl4 roles (other than o1 major ages ago) prior to site admin, but have fairly valuable experience as i've tried a wide range of roles on the server.
while combat or non combat isnt everyone's favorite, it can still be great to try out different departments and maybe even get cl4 in it, a wide range of experience across multiple sectors will always be more valuable than extensive experience in one department.

I m not entirely sure but I’m pretty sure it’s because it’s a combative department and requires a bridge between special agents and Directors considering having only 2 people lead jr cl4s with the role DEA needs to have on surface would become difficult for the directors so managers should just be to bridge that same with ISD
100% certain that they gave DEA and ISD the extra sr cl4s just to match. I bet it was originally planned for DEA and then they just went "screw it, wouldn't hurt to give extras to ISD as well."
Also bet that DEA probably got Agency Managers just to counter the historic inactivity issues that their directors have had. ISD doesn't really need commissioners, though they're using them well all the same.

From my knowledge it was due to the merger of Beta-1 and Intel. It was to mimic the MTF structure to an extent.
ISD were the copycats in this case.

I cant agree more with you on that. And if you somehow end up doing something bad, you might as well forget about becoming a Senior, or even JUNIOR CL4 ever again, or even any whitelist/scouting-based jobs. Ive seen this happen often enough to know that the community remembers what you did, and often use it against you even after literal months pass by, if not years.
And if you have something like autism or just generally have difficulties in social interactions, then god help you.
This is not an attempt at starting an argument, i am simply speaking based on previous observations and experiences.
Everything you said here is fucking 100% truth. I will be not surprised when SCPRP will reach the point when there will be no people applying for CL4 role or there will be small/almost no CL4 on SCPRP.
I made decision when i joined this server in 2022 that i would never apply for CL4 or go for CO in MTF, while i was 15 in 2022. Now im 19 and that decision paid me on good terms in long run.
Also one more thing: Past can't be hidden or hell changed, people who dislike you will always bring out your past. No matter how much you don't want to.
I think you misunderstood me on that part. When i was refering to people bringing up what you did in the past, i was more refering to people using said past as the sole reason for you getting rejected for [insert role here]. Just wanted to clarify.
Get experience all around. Not just one department. Especially if you’re going for Site Admin. There’s a reason those departments have a lack of senior cl4 positions.
