What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
It intends on changing how NVGs work. Currently you can wear then with facility lights on or off and there is little effect to your vision with NVGs on and facility lights on.
I believe it would make sense for NVGs to essentially white-out your screen if equiped with facility lights on. When facility lights are off they operate as per usual/currently do. This will also mean lights will have to be turned off during a SCP-966 breach to easily identify it whilst also sacrificing standard visability for personnel without NVGs.
SCP-966 isn't particularly a strong SCP and is most definitley a stealth SCP which is how it should be played provided people don't scream over TS "966 is hitting me". This should make foundation have to consider turning lights off during SCP-966 breaches or leave them on and deal with the conserquences as such.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
With 2.2k threads in SCP-RP Suggestions resolved I am sure something of such has been suggested at one point in time however when I was staff there wasn't much indication of this being suggested nor recently.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- More realistic NVGs
- Better SCP-966 breaches and will make the SCP used more often??
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- Inconveniences with breaches (which is the point)
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
NVGs are arguably too powerful especially against SCP-966 and I believe there should be some sort of sacrifice faced with NVGs as seen with scrambles (protection drops when looking at congnito hazards).
