Network Leadership required O5 members being announced

Requires Network Leadership to review
What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion was quiet frankly unthought out thoroughly and a spur of the moment idea but hey who knows.

The suggestion is to no longer announce when stuff involving an o5 member gets "recruited", promoted and whatever else gets announced.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
probably not

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):

- this will return some mystery to the role (unless people pay attention when they were directly involved with the person moving up or friends on steam with the person) as it wont be announced in the big public channel (which we're also supposed to take as IC announcements so thats kinda funny)

- could decrease the chance of people immediately going and DMing the o5 member in an attempt to rank skip to have a issue resolved

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:

- people who join o5 might feel bad that the servers don't announce their new role

- less public records available for people being recruited into the role

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
welp as i said this was just a spur of the moment idea that i liked and i haven't suggested anything in awhile.

It'll be very hard to restore mystery to the role given that the server is full of gremlins who wish to know everything. However, I think little things like this could be very helpful. There are RP servers where departments like ISD have their roster abstracted and hidden from the general playerbase, so that extensions of that department could literally be anywhere. I think something like that would be very nice for O5, they shouldn't feel 'connected' to everything. Site-65 is one of several hundred, and I very much doubt it would even register in the top 20 in terms of importance. For the staff of a site like 65, a change in the O5 Council wouldn't be notable.

I like where you're going, could you be more specific as to how the info would be abstracted?

The way we used to handle promotions for O5 was to announce in a csay of that person's identity being erased (ICly nobody is aware besides ethics of this data removal) and A1 would make a point of taking documents from bunks to remove any trace. This practice was dropped for the last few UK o5 since they came from A1 directly and had no real presence outside of that.

Unfortunately it's a case of, this is such a minor change and quite frankly, isn't enforced to be announced anywhere in game, It would be spread on discord in a matter of seconds (Rank requests my beloved)

With the way staff need to know who is in a role for things such as complaints or players need to know for demotions (Especially given they're in character now).

I don't know if this is feesible so I won't leave a + or - Support.

Just a good luck.

if your looking at TS or say the regiment menu then its intentional metagaming (when you use the info maliciously) with discord its kinda pushed on you cause your always going to look at pings

i think it would be cool as it'd give some more mystique to the role maybe even if someone's on O5 you can't click on their steam profile or see them on the job menu (w/o being staff or GM) so it's even more of a surprise for the average player to see that there's O5 on site
