What does this suggestion change/add/remove:

This suggestion aims to make additional jobs be able to !credit D-Class, if & where possible. Please consider as many of the following jobs as possible, if they are not already able to credit them:
  • Department Directors
  • Consultants
  • Senior Doctors
  • Ambassadors
  • IA Agents/Operatives
  • Special Agents
  • Senior Agents
  • DEA Agents/Operatives
  • All Site Administration Jobs
  • All Site Command Jobs
  • Tech Experts (unless something ends up being done with E&TS)
  • All MTF Jobs
  • All jobs that are available only to CI Gamma+

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:

There are prior suggestions about the !credit system and the closest, most relevant one to this would be Cerül's suggestion to credit Site Staff jobs, which was denied. With the denial reason being -
We try to avoid giving people the ability to credit others for just doing their jobs. The GSD Research DClass gameplay loop requires credits as it is where new players join the server from. But outside of that loop, credits should be handed out on merit. Credits should not be used as an incentive for simply doing their respective job.
Agree; However, these credits would absolutely be awarded to D-Class for doing something outside of their respective job (Since a D-Class's gameplay loop is more focused on being against the Foundation, than with it). More on this later.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):

  • Gels nicely with UK SCP-RP's D-Class work program system and upcoming D-Class merits system - As the D-Class & escort wouldn't have to hunt around as much to get someone that can !credit them, especially now that Medbay's bigger and the most common work program for D-Class at the moment are medical jobs.

  • In UK E-11, we can take a D-Class and a Tech Expert to go clean CCs as a possibility in our RP loop; This would allow us to be immediately able to credit the D-Class as opposed to hunting down someone that can credit them. Although I think this counts as a work program, but there are similar circumstances and things. I'll leave them as separate points because there's the merits system.

  • Easier in general to credit D-Class that need to get credit when applicable jobs aren't on - Or get them credited faster when the only jobs that can give credit have to have their credit approved, such as Jr. or CL2 Researcher. But this would mean people generally go hunting for jobs that can credit a D-Class less.

  • As a result of any or all of the above, a potentially better experience for new players joining the server - Their progression will be seen to more timelier, with more availability to credit them; Which may improve their likelihood of sticking around longer.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:

  • Unsure how this would fit in with how things operate in US - Please leave feedback so that I may change this, US players.

  • Interferes with the GSD/Research/D-Class gameplay loop - Not to a disruptive extent imo, but I imagine it's not impossible if more of the people walking around site are able to give !credit to D-Class than before.

  • Potential Abuse - Again, if more people walking around the site can !credit D-Class, then it can be abused to give it where it otherwise maybe shouldn't be given. Admittedly, this is why we have the cooldown timer on !credits, but that mitigates this issue without entirely preventing it.

  • Time spent changing the necessary flags - Not sure if this is a per-job thing, but in the event that it is, it would be a task to go through each job that needs to now be able to credit D-Class and then make that change, even if it is a simple task, it's still time-consuming.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:

Basically - UK has a bunch of instances where D-Class can do stuff without researchers present, mainly the work program where they can go do a medical job, go do an engineering job, they'll even be able to do a Cadet's, according to the upcoming merits system. Which is kinda funny to me, imagine a D-Class escorting a test. That's hilarious. In addition to other stuff I mentioned in the positives section. Anyway, right now, to get credit for those D-Class, people have to get hold of someone that can credit them (i.e. RsD jobs) as they can't issue that credit on their jobs. It's a bit of a minor thing, but I imagine this would be an annoyance for new players (when I was a new player back in early May, getting !credits for things was exceedingly difficult, but that's mostly down to skill issues and grievances with GenSec leadership, so) - I was considering may also Cadet and Guard could get a revision of who can !credit them, but that's kind of out of the scope of this suggestion; Regardless, all the relevant jobs should be able to do the things.

The CI jobs... I mean obviously, D-Class can go to surface and do stuff with CI... Although since CI is an entirely different faction, I don't know if it's capable of interacting like that. Might be, I don't know. Throwing it out there.

The suggestion for Site Command is a bit of a gimmie, kinda funny. Probably not gonna happen because when in the world is a member of Site Command ever going to interact with a D-Class? (Although the possibility isn't zero).

Also, not sure how well this would apply for US, if at all - Since my biggest reasons for making this happen are UK-specific. US players please comment.

Hi Emilia,

Thanks for taking the time to make a server suggestion.
The Content Team has chosen to deny your suggestion due to the following reasons.

SSL do not believe more ways to receive XP would be beneficial for the new player experience, and would be a detriment to someone learning how the server operates.
