What does this suggestion change/add/remove: Removing Invisible Rules

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Idk, search feature dosent really for me. Its really hard to use btw

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2): A Better understanding of the rules. More transparency with server & player community.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion: More rules, meaning someone will have to type it into the rules and that process could be long and tiring.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted: I'd like to start out by saying this post is heavily inspired by Ganch's Suggestion, where he talks about the invisible rule on TG (which i didnt know about and i play tg) And i think just in general it would be good for the server to have invisible rules made visible, seeing as people like transparency, and alot of people are on Ganch's Suggestion typing -support, because of the fact, that they want it removed. ( i also did it ) So this post is solely for those people who actually want the invisible rules removed/added to the real rule list, so they're easier to follow, and we dont get punished for something we didnt know

SUGGESTION RESPONSE

PARTIALLY ACCEPTED

Hello, @J4ckP0T

After discussing this, we are not going to make every SL clarification public or add every possible situation to the main rules. A lot of them are extremely niche or situation specific, and publishing everything would create an unreasonable amount of rule bloat while also encouraging loophole hunting and even more ruleplay.

However, there is a fair point underneath this suggestion. Players, especially new ones, cannot reasonably be expected to know about a commonly enforced clarification that has only existed in an staff channel for the last three years, or something similar.

We are going to review the existing SL clarifications, move the more common and regularly enforced ones into the public rules or Staff Rulings page, and remove anything that has already been mechanically integrated, publicly clarified, or is no longer relevant. New clarifications that are likely to affect players regularly should also be added to the public rulings page.

The very niche and situation specific clarifications will remain internal, especially where publishing them would make them easier to loophole or abuse.

Some of the examples being given about people immediately receiving warnings appear to be exaggerated or disputed. However, I am also not going to pretend that it never happens. If someone breaks an obscure clarification they could not have reasonably known about, staff should use some discretion and explain it instead of immediately assuming bad faith.

So, we will not be accepting the suggestion in full, but we will be acting on the underlying issue by cleaning up the clarifications and making the commonly enforced ones accessible.

Thus this will be marked as partially accepted
and steps will be taken to fulfill this in the coming days

Kind regards,
