What does this suggestion change/add/remove:

This suggestion removes the recent addition of the VChat OOC message limit. This is to either alter it to allow far more messages, or to outright remove the limit.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:

No.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):

Removing a feature which impacts the community in a negative manner

Maintaining the OOC community interaction within the server

Removing the monetization of speaking on a server... people play for enjoyment?

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:

Returning use of OOC to previous levels (which arguably is not poor if regulated properly, in following metagaming, mixing etc rules)

Lost revenue on...speaking

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:

Honestly, it is difficult to articulate why this should be accepted, mainly because I do not believe it particularly needs to be explained. First and foremost people play this server for enjoyment, and despite it being a roleplay server, much enjoyment from players comes from the strong and welcoming community, which is fostered through features such as OOC chat. Limiting this for all players, and only offering increases through the purchase of VIP packages is incredibly disappointing to see.

OOC can be problematic, but this is the age old argument of "bad apples". The fact is, OOC is near objectively used for it's proper use, and OOC being used for unacceptable reasons is easily dealt with, through moderation of individuals which break these expectations to make proper use of OOC. The solution is not to take away from players.

Changes should be made with an utilitarian objective, to benefit the most amount of players, in this case, this does the complete opposite. As such, this suggestion should be accepted, and the OOC chat limit should be either changed, or outright removed.

To clarify briefly, this is part of efforts to reduce new players or alt accounts spamming things in ooc especially when there aren't staff about. Despite all the filters they're far from perfect and this is something in the meantime. What this is not, is an attempt to get people to buy VIP for OOC chat limit, no one in their right mind is going to buy VIP for ooc messages, rather its to restrict donators less, as they are far less likely to be in either of the aforementioned categories of players trying to be malicious
I also believe there is some additional reasonings Yeke will likely share, however I will not paraphrase on his behalf or at least until I've spoken with him about it

Limiting OOC chat to only 15 messages every 30 minutes sucks, It affects players who want to use OOC chat with the goal of reducing spamming.
It honestly feels like regular players are getting punished due to the actions of a few.

What I don't understand about this is, If donators are less likely to be malicious. Why isn't it Euclid VIP+? Nobody is going to spend the £10 just to spam a little more, So why restrict it to Thamuel VIP+?

Denied,

We are not removing the limit, we may adjust the limits but we are not removing it.

This was poorly explained in the changelog but it is not even for monetisation, its more for moderation and also reducing toxicity and beef, and also preventing other issues from undesirebles, however that is a fult with me not correcting jacubs changelog as it was late at night.

However, the reason VIPs get more, is simple because people who are here to cause issues wont buy VIP, whereas majority of players have VIP and would rather not lose it, so why not trust them with more? but even so we dont need whole ass OOC conversations, you want to have an OOC convo thats longer, go to discord, PM the person or do literally anything else, we do not need to clog OOC with it, I have been pushing it for months.

Most people up in arms are doing this because "Muh freedom of speech", this genuinley will hardly impact anyone in 90% of cases, there might be an occasional edge case, but in the end, it doesnt matter, many other communities do this who are more stricter than our limits, such as Perp who from memory have FIVE ooc messages for non VIPs.

Yes its new and changes things people like, but we have to do this and we will not apologise for taking the action we need in order to prevent rulebreaks and safeguard the community, this literally by the way is nothing to do with money, as if we wanted more money we simply could increase our prices inline with inflation (XK VIP for £115 anyone?)
