What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Rename RRT (Riot Response Team) to something else. Here are some suggestions:

  • STF - Security Task Force (most suitable)
  • SSF - Special Security Force
  • HSST - Heavy Site Security Team
  • ASG - Advanced Security Group (my preferred choice)
  • TSS - Tactical Security Squad
  • CTT - Counter Threat Team
  • SPU - Special Protection Unit
  • GSF - Guardian Security Force
  • FST - Facility Security Team
Feel free to suggest your own names in the comments.

Possible positives of this suggestion include:

  • The unit will be able to operate more freely and handle a wider range of tasks. Currently, the Riot Response Team is mainly focused on suppressing riots, which is a relatively rare occurrence. This limits their ability to contribute to the department's overall mission, and the name Riot Response Team creates confusion when they are assigned tasks outside of riot control. Renaming the unit will allow them to take on more diverse responsibilities and contribute more effectively to the department's overall goals. Despite the fact that RRT can perform tasks beyond riot control, the current name is hindering their ability to be of assistance to the Site.
  • The server lacks a crucial element for staff development, and despite RRT's presence, its insignificant responsibilities render it inactive. Consequently, there exists a gap between MTF and GENSec that should be filled by ASG.
  • Renaming to ASG could help to improve GS's staffing and training. By remaking RRT to a sub-department focused on advanced security, GS will have a clear pathway for growth and development. This will help to stabilize the department's personnel and provide a stronger foundation for future training and development. In addition, renaming to ASG will allow GS to take on more responsibility for securing the site, which is an important goal for the department. It's important to note that there is a limit of 8 members of ASG, which is not too large of a group to shift focus from D-block control to ASG. ASG can act autonomously while still prioritizing riot control as their first task.
It's regrettable to witness the significant effort developers have invested in creating models, licenses, and roles go to waste due to RRT's lack of utilization.

Possible negatives of this suggestion include:

  • It may cause tension between departments. Some members of MTF or other departments may feel that their duties are being encroached upon or that their expertise is being undermined. However, this is unlikely to be a major issue as ASG will primarily focus on LCZ security and riot response.
  • There may be some confusion among players about the purpose and duties of the new sub-department. However, this can be addressed through clear communication and training.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
Overall, this suggestion should be accepted as it has the potential to revitalize the GS department and improve the overall security of the site. By renaming RRT and shifting focus on advanced security, GS will be better equipped to handle a wide range of tasks and provide a more stable and effective security presence.

++Heavy Chicken Man Support:

I agree with this completely, and it would be one step in the right direction for GS. RRT had been at one point, an amazing middle ground between MTF and GS.

A lot of MTF Operatives would first get an RRT license then go onto MTF and although this is still the same. The experience is completely different, RRT can no longer do CL4 escorts and are essentially better GS. Which is is greatly disappointing, as when I used to be RRT we would go to every C5 and C1 and assist MTF with it.

However, fact is that currently I am seeing RRT going downhill. I think because of their reputation and because of GS as a whole. They aren't as accepted as they once were, which is annoying. Everyone goes "Oh, GS minge" and "GS are incapable of doing this"

But, my counter to that is that YOU were a Cadet at one point in time. Why should new players be excluded from experiencing what the server has to offer? I'm not pushing for GS to become a Regiment, however I feel that RRT should be separated from normal GS Command. And should focus on being an all purpose Response Unit for all situations taking priority on D-Block (The way it used to be)

I don't think an all purpose Response Unit should have to ask for permission to assist MTF with a Code. Instead they should be expected to be some of the first boots on the ground. I mean, they would be a General Security.

This allows for newer players to experience what each regiment has to offer, in a Unit that isn't as serious as a Regiment.

I could go on, however I am going to leave it here!

A name change is just a step in the right direction, and although some don't think it'll change anything IT WILL, by changing the name you would be changing it's purpose. RRT has been around for years, it's time for change. It's time to give RRT purpose

Hi @Coffeatus,

Thanks for taking the time to make a server suggestion. There is no need to rename RRT, as their job currently is to, quite literally, respond to riots as they already do amongst other responsibilities. There needs to be actual reason and specifics, not just to change their name.
