What does this suggestion change/add/remove:

Adds a red button to the Nuke Room - When pressed (for the sake of mass headache prevention, this could functionally be a Bio CL5 keypad with increased hacking difficulty and the superficial appearance of a red button, which would be weird that you'd need a keycard to press a button, but I feel like this is an acceptable trade-off for the sake of server health), this initiates a sequence similar to the nuke sequence (potentially with some kind of shaking effect) and if not stopped (it would require a period within which it could be stopped - and more easily by Staff than anyone else to mitigate potential abuse), restarts the server (IIRC, restarts are usually RP resets anyway, but to cover my bases, I will stipulate that this would count as an RP reset, too).

This could be referred to in-universe as SCP-001-J.
Potential SCP-2000 hook?

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:

There have been multiple SCP suggestions in the past, but none of this nature or specific SCP.

There is a relevant section in the Frequently Asked Suggestions thread which reads:
SCP Suggestions: We will not be accepting SCP suggestions if the SCP or suggestion falls into the current category;
  • SCP is controversial - i.e SCP-963 Dr Bright
  • SCP is a "meme" i.e SCP-420-J
  • Suggestion is not thought out i.e Suggestion is short and lacks substance, or there is no thought into the gameplay / rp loop of the SCP
  • Asking for certain SCPs to have the ability to speak (boo)
I imagine that, as a joke SCP, this is somewhat against the spirit of what that asks, however that clause does not outright bar all joke SCPs, only specifically "meme" ones and there is a certain kind of quality to "meme SCPs" such as 420-J that separates it from others like 001-J, wherein they, while still being Joke SCPs, are not as comparable in this regard. I would argue in this case that the nature of 001-J is not particularly memey, rather just generally funny - While 420-J is deliberately entrenched within 'haha weed funny 420' shitpost meme culture and is a good example of the kind of "meme SCP" that this clause intends to prohibit.

For that reason, while I think it would take some work to make the concept fit, I believe it's worth consideration and not an immediate denial citing this part of the FAS, as while it may superficially categorically qualify, the nuance suggests that it could reasonably fly as an idea.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):

  • + New CI Raid Goal (:skull:TBF looking at this practically, UK CI would probably instate a limit on 001-J raid attempts, while US would never get there at all. If too many CI 001-J raid attempts is a concern, consider having 001-J raids require SL+ auth)

  • + A decent in-universe rationalisation of server restarts (Although this topic would likely never actually be explored IC, it may be good justification that keeps players immersed and improves the player experience???? Yeah IDK either, go ahead and deny the suggestion now 😭)

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:

  • - Dev time required for implementation

  • - Unforeseen bugs/issues with the implementation that could have far-reaching consequences (e.g. Restarts happening when they shouldn't, contributing to the next point)

  • - Potential mass server disruption & server health concerns that come with giving the players a way to restart the server from within the server

  • - Abuse

  • - Not needed (You could just do an 001-J event for a server restart, there's no need to have this as a permanent fixture)

  • - Makes no sense (If 001-J was a thing, it would not be kept at a Site with numerous other SCPs, especially some of the SCPs at Site-65 in particular)

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:

Your joint Best Suggestion winner and Worst Suggestion runner-up, everyone. Here you go, a stab at 001-J.

This is actually something I've been thinking about for about half a year and was about to write it off, but I figured I'd throw it out for a good laugh in celebration of the award. Have fun.
