What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion is a SCP suggestion for a new playable Safe Class SCP to the site, SCP-131-A/B, much like the current Type-Green-A/B or the 939 pair, this SCP has two playable characters, SCP-131-A, a burnt orange colored eye pod and, SCP-131-B, a yellow colored eye pod. The mechanics of SCP-131-A/B would be the following;
- SCP-131-A/B, much like SCP-999 would have a CL1 keycard to navigate the site since they are safe class that have been allowed to roam the facility.
- The SCPs, if both are staring at SCP-173 would disallow movement/teleportation for a time being (Maybe 1 minute for both or 30 seconds for just one with a 3-5 minute cooldown on the 173 debuff), since the eye pods never blink, and following foundation databases, the pair of eye pods have been used to re-contain SCP-173 due to their nature of never blinking, however for the server balance, that could just have a temporary effect on SCP-173.
- The SCPs would have no ability to speak directly, but put out a high pitch squeal with a SWEP, this is usually how to two eye pods communicate, or even alert foundation staff to danger or that danger is coming to them.
SWEP Features:
- Name: SCP-131
- Features: Left click to make random noises (Includes cooing, babbling, or other pitched sounds)
- Right click for alert sound (A more high pitch squeal to alert staff of maybe an incoming SCP)
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?
I do not believe, from a quick search in the forums that this suggestion has been suggested before. However what makes this different from other SCP suggestions is it's another safe class entity to roam the facility instead of one that just wants to kill everything, plus I believe it would be a good addition to have some variety in the safe class SCPs roaming the site, since the current ones are just SCP-999, SCP-912, SCP-073, SCP-2295 and, SCP-22415 instances that can freely roam the site, however SCP-912 is usually locked into D-Block, or at least that's where he stays most of the time, and you don't see 073's much outside of random tests or when they are online for 20 minutes and can't do much. So usually SCP-999 is the one actually roaming the facility and while 2295 is online and roaming around alot, much like SCP-999 they dont serve much of a purpose other than healing, so I believe a new free roaming SCP mechanic could be a cool addition.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- A new mechanic for SCP-173 breaches/testing.
- Two new playable SCPs for lower level players to interact with foundation staff and getting SCP levels.
- A new SCP for RSD to interact with and study the effects on different SCPs with and how they interact with staff.
- This SCP could also interact with 22415 in the way of alerting foundation staff to a upcoming threat, and have a more meaningful connection with 22415 instances.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- Based on the evidence presented, I don't believe I really see any downsides to this addition, but if I was to list some that *could* happen it would be, more abuse of the D-Class doors from CL1 SCPs opening and closing the doors, however I believe that can be countered with a simple rule, since the SCP-131 pair is wanting to help the foundation, that opening of any door inside of D-Block (D-Class testing/medical doors) is prohibited, this could also be added to SCP-999 but that is another suggestion.
- Some dev work would need to be done for the SWEPs for the sounds and the SCP-173 mechanic, however I believe that it would be worth it in the end especially for low pop hours and a 173 breach, it tends to go on way longer than it needs to be and usually ERT ends up being called over a simple 173 breach, where SCP-131-A/B can alleviate that pressure somewhat.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
I believe this suggestion should be accepted since it adds a new layer to the playable SCPs and a direct counter to SCP-173 during any hours, since SCP-173 can teleport every 5 seconds, like stated before during low pop hours, it tends to be a unfightable/overextended battle.
This suggestion also adds two new playable SCPs for the foundation to research, understand, and use to their advantage.
