What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion recommends adding SCP-2316 'The Bodies in the Water', or rather an instance of SCP-2316-1: This would be a document that carries a cognitohazardous picture of SCP-2316 on it and would spawn in the same way that SCP-096-1 does.
There would be a % based chance that anybody who views the document would be effected by the cognito hazard (in lore only people with a native cognito hazard resistance value of 13.5 or less are effected), they would see a message on their screen reading "YOU RECOGNISE THE BODIES N THE WATER" similar to the message seen by a SCP-008-2 or 049-2 and would be immediately compelled to exit the Site and attempt to reach the edge of the surface map. At which point they can spawn-out to receive SCP experience in the same way that D-Class or ERT can.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- All of the mechanics required to implement this SCP are already present and working as intended
- Would add a new dynamic to breach response RP
- Would add a new dynamic to surface RP in which the Foundation attempts to recover escaped personnel and the CI attempt to kidnap them or the GOC decides their own course of action
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- 2316 is a CL4 anomaly which means each time a -1 breaches it would possibly force a site-wide amnestication
- Requires people to properly RP being effected by the cognito hazard and they might idle and not try to escape
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
I think that adding a new dynamic to SCP breaches is something that we should always be on the lookout for as a community; SCPs are ultimately the fundemental reason we are here. If a good mechanic to manage the likelihood of a viewer becoming effected by the anomaly was readily available then it will make the RP setting of the SCP much more amicable as we can avoid the extremes of a mass site walk-out and no one being effected.
I recognise that staff are much more occupied with delivering on larger projects right now, which is why I suggest SCP-2316-1 rather than 2316 itself as we already have the mechanics in place to implement this anomaly in some capacity.
