What server you were banned on: SCP-RP (UK)

Your in-game name: Silas Ashcroft [GE-DD]

Your SteamID: STEAM_0:0:23771620

Ban Reason: MRDM, FailRP, LTAP

Date of ban: 1/25/2025

Who banned you: Derek White

Ban length: 2 Weeks & 3 days

What will you do to stop this from happening again: To make sure this doesn't happen again, here's what I'm going to do:

Lock my PC when I’m not using it: I’ll always lock my computer when I step away so no one can get into my account without my permission, especially my younger brother.

Create a separate profile for my brother: I’ll set up a different user profile for Leo, with restrictions, so he can’t accidentally log into my gaming accounts or mess with anything.

Talk to my family: I’ll have a chat with Leo about the importance of respecting my online time and the rules of roleplay servers. I want him to understand how things work when I’m playing.

Keep an eye on my accounts: I’ll be more aware of my accounts, especially when I’m away from the computer. If anything comes up, I’ll deal with it quickly to avoid any issues.

These steps should help make sure nothing like this happens again, and I can keep enjoying the server without causing problems.

Why should you be unbanned:

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to appeal my recent ban for MRDM (Mass RDM), FailRP, and LTAP. I understand the seriousness of these charges and would like to clarify the situation, which was caused by an unfortunate set of events involving my younger brother, Leo.

Here’s the full context: I work at the AMC Movie Theater in my hometown, and I was required to work a late shift. Before leaving for work, I logged into the SCP RP UK server to help write a document for my in-game food delivery company, Goober Eats. I decided to leave my character AFK while I prepared for work. However, while I was away at my job, Leo, my 11-year-old brother, decided to hop on my computer without my knowledge. Leo, who is used to playing games like Minecraft, Roblox, and a bit of Halo Infinite with my dad on the weekends, found my account logged in on the server and took control, unaware of the rules or the importance of staying in character for roleplay.

It wasn’t until around 10:15 pm, when I returned home from work, that I discovered Leo on my computer. I took him off the computer frantically when I saw him playing on my account without asking. It was only later that I found out I had been banned.

I reached out to Derek White, the senior administrator who had issued the ban, to ask if I could view any clips or photos of what my little brother had done while I was away. I wanted to understand exactly what happened and see what actions had led to the ban. Unfortunately, I was informed that I was not able to receive any clips or images of the logs, as they were "not being able to send pictures of our logs." I fully understand the reasons for this and respect the need for privacy and security around sensitive server information.

Regarding MRDM (Mass RDM): Leo, not fully understanding the impact of his actions, began attacking other players randomly without any roleplay context. He thought it would be fun to cause chaos, leading to the RDM charges. I want to clarify that I had no part in this, and I sincerely apologize for the disruption caused by his actions.

Regarding FailRP: Leo also failed to follow the RP rules. Since he wasn’t familiar with the expectations of roleplay on the server, his actions broke immersion and disrupted the experience for other players. I apologize for his lack of understanding, and I deeply regret the negative impact this had on the community.

Regarding LTAP (Leaving to Avoid Punishment): When the ban was issued, Leo, not fully grasping the situation, disconnected from the server impulsively to avoid trouble. This wasn’t an intentional act of evasion, but rather a reaction driven by confusion. I assure you this wasn’t my doing and was completely out of my control.

I’ve always been a responsible player on this server and have never broken any rules of this nature before. I’ve enjoyed following the server rules and participating in the roleplaying community on both the UK and US servers. It has been a fantastic experience, and I deeply regret this unfortunate situation that has led to my ban.

I really enjoy being part of this community, and I would never intentionally disrupt the experience for others. I hope you can understand the situation, and I’d appreciate it if you could consider lifting the ban so I can get back to playing. From now on, I’ll make sure my PC is secure to avoid any future issues. I give you my word that I will never allow this to happen again.

I just want to say I’m really sorry for what my brother did on my account. I take responsibility for it, and I feel terrible about the trouble it caused. I’ve made sure it won’t happen again, and I hope you can give me a chance to make things right.

Thanks for taking the time to review my appeal.

Best regards,
Silas Ashcroft [GE-DD]
