Dear Ethics Members,
I hope this mail finds you well. My name is Corz "Governor" Niflhel, and I’m reaching out to express my interest in joining the Ethics Committee. Serving the Foundation has always been an honor, and I believe stepping into this role would allow me to contribute further by ensuring our actions remain guided by fairness, responsibility, and integrity.
I aspire to rise to a higher level not only within the chain of command but also by contributing meaningfully to the server’s roleplay. This position would allow me to not only "host" larger-scale roleplay scenarios but also assist others in enhancing their RP experience, as ECMs have the authority to authorize such roleplay when needed.
I also hope to achieve personal growth through this opportunity. Despite being on this server for a long time, I’ve never felt confident enough to take the step of applying for a higher position. However, I’ve decided it’s time to challenge myself, step out of my comfort zone, and take a chance with this application.
I previously applied for a similar position, but my application was denied due to low activity during that month. While I understood the reasoning behind the decision, it motivated me to try and improve my engagement and consistency on the server. And after a year I feel ready to apply for another position, knowing I’ve put in the effort to demonstrate my dedication and commitment.
Serving as an Ambassador was an incredibly good experience for me, especially since I struggled with severe anxiety when it came to public speaking. This became very obvious when I was taught with holding inductions for new agents, a responsibility that Charles kindly supervised for me. Thanks to my friends support and their mentorship I was able to overcome my anxiety and become much more confident in interacting with others both on and off the server. Without this experience, I doubt I would have been able to hold the positions I have today.
Additionally, my time as an Ambassador taught me some really good skills, such as managing rosters, handling blacklists, and overseeing warnings. It also played a crucial role in helping me develop the ability to write formal documents and create templates, skills I use regularly now.
When I was assigned the squadron "The Prosecutors," I immediately took charge, setting up tasks for them on the Trello and actively recruiting new members to join. By the time I resigned, I had managed to make The Prosecutors the most active it had ever been during my time in Omega-1, and I’m incredibly proud of that achievement. The support I received from the CO team aswell as Ethics in Omega-1 was extremely valuable to me without them I would have never learned how a tribunal functions. I even had the opportunity to host my own tribunal as a Prosecutor. Although I didn’t succeed in prosecuting the defendant, the experience was rewarding in itself. It felt like a major win in my progress, and I walked away from the tribunal feeling as though a huge weight had been lifted. I realized that I was genuinely advancing on the server.
However, on November 16th, 2023, I decided to resign from Omega-1 due to feeling a small burnout. I recognize that I likely would have reached this point much sooner if it weren’t for the incredible people I met within the regiment many of them I enjoy speaking today. Their support played a significant role in making my time in Omega-1 so much better, and I’m grateful for the lasting friendships and lessons I've learnt.
I worked closely with Cheesy to implement a new system that replaced the logging of hours with the requirement to earn a set number of merit points each month to remain active. This change was extremely well received since it encouraged operatives to actively participate and engage in roleplay, aligning with the mission of the UN faction to create roleplay. To enhance the roleplay experience further, I played a significant role in organizing medical roleplay scenarios in Pinewood, setting up large medical F.O.Bs to create immersive and meaningful interactions.
However, the most impactful roleplay enhancement I was involved in was the large scale meeting that Cheesy, Nosey, Bomba, and I organized with the Foundation. This meeting included representatives from Site Administration, O5, Ethics, Omega-1, Alpha-1, and Nu-7. The purpose of the meeting was to establish a DMZ and improve coordination with the Foundation for scenarios where UN operatives needed access to conduct tests or operations.
When I reached the rank of Major in the UNGOC, I began to feel the familiar signs of burnout, especially as a war broke out, which unfortunately brought roleplay to a complete stop. Cheesy and I organized a small event for the entire UN. This event included Cheesy promoting me to Lieutenant General, followed by an immediate operation at the lake house. I scouted the area ahead of the team, only to be struck by a missile from an unknown GOI (or did I?!). It was a memorable conclusion to my time in the regiment.
Looking back, I couldn’t be prouder of the squadron I led, "The Untouchables," and the incredible individuals I had the luck of working with. It took countless hours of dedication, effort, and teamwork to establish and grow the squadron, but in the end and we succeeded.
Not even three days after stepping into this role, I collaborated with researchers and E-11 operatives on a test involving SCP-035. The goal was to examine how 035 alters the brain functions and nervous system of its host and explore whether it was possible to extract the host without causing fatal harm. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful. Nevertheless, the experience was a major roleplay enhancement for all three regiments and departments involved. It allowed us to engage in meaningful cross-department collaboration, and it stands out as one of the most memorable moments in my time as Consultant.
Another rewarding aspect of being a Consultant was the opportunity to write detailed in depth documents something I hadn’t experienced before. As an Ambassador, I had grown used to quickly writing arrest reports.
Authing AA- During a Code 5 involving three SCPs or when it becomes an issue for the non-combatives on site then the highest ranking personnel on-site, typically an ECM or O5, can authorize access to the Advanced Armory. This is usually granted to NCO+ MTF, with priority given to E-11.
If the ECM or O5 does not provide authorization and is unresponsive the responsibility falls to Site Administration to issue the approval.
Mass term- Mass termination of D-Class can be authorized when they have escaped Inner D-Block and are actively attempting to escape or disrupt Foundation operations. In such situations, ECMs can authorize the termination of all D-Class outside of Inner D-Block. This means that instead of the standard procedure of cuffing and detaining, all escaped D-Class are to be terminated on sight.
Authorizing Tests- Our site contains a wide variety of SCPs, going from highly dangerous "world-ending" SCPs to passive and non-threatening SCPs. When a researcher wishes to conduct a test on a highly dangerous SCP or perform a cross-test, they must get approval from the Ethics Committee. This ensures the proposed test is reviewed, deemed ethical, and planned in a way that prioritizes the safety of all site personnel. A prime example of such a test would involve SCP-008, an extremely deadly anomaly.
Handling the Alpha Warhead- When our site is overrun by SCPs or when a GOI has successfully breached our SCPs, the Ethics Committee being equipped with a Clearance 5 is responsible for initiating a Code Black. They must then proceed to Floor 3 to prepare the Alpha Warhead if the breach threatens to escape the site. This action is mainly only used if the anomalies escaping are dangerous or if the breach has been ongoing long enough to affect server-wide roleplay. In such cases, Clearance 5 personnel have the authority to use the Alpha Warhead, effectively resetting it to a normal state.
Being a face of the Ethics Committee- When you join the Ethics Committee, you are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and set an example for the rest of the site. As one of the highest ranking personnel, you will represent the Ethics Committee, which consists of Assistants, Ethics Members, and the Ethics Chairman. Your role as a member places you at the forefront of ethical decision making
Having meetings with SA/O5/EC- When the site faces challenges, whether they involve department or regiment issues, or when a hostile GOI poses a threat, Site Command and Site Administration will host a meeting to discuss the situation's repercussions and determine the appropriate course of action. Site Administration usually is the speaker and the one coming out with the announcement seeing how they usually deal with communicating with the GOIs.
Handling O-1 in General- As an ECM, you have an entire regiment at your disposal. Omega-1 is a high ranking MTF that represents the highest level of professionalism. They function as your left hand in operations, carrying out your orders without questioning and ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Picking a Commander for Omega-1- As Omega-1 is a regiment there are times when a Commander resign. In these cases, the Ethics Committee is responsible for selecting a new Commander for the regiment. During this they carefully consider various COs and other potential Commanders, to determine the best fit for the position and ensure the regiment continues to operate at the highest standard.
Taking care of Ethics Assistants- ECMs and the ECC each have their own Assistants who work closely with them to carry out their orders. Similar to how Omega-1 supports them, Assistants can use Omega-1 to assist in fulfilling ECM/ECC orders
Assistants are also picked by the ECMs/ECC when they make an application.
Creating Orders for O-1/Assistants- This is pretty straightforward...ECMs are responsible for giving orders to both Omega-1 and Assistants to carry out. This not only helps the ECMs responsibilities but also adds variety and depth to the roles of Assistants and Omega-1 making their tasks more engaging and enjoyable. By doing so and creating fun orders it makes being in O-1 and an Assistant more fun for everyone.
Calling in ERT- As a Clearance 5 you also have the ability to call in ERT if a breach has been going on for an extended period. ERT is typically seen as a last line of defense usually deployed when a breach is severe, such as during a multi SCP breach or a high risk breach like an SCP-008 outbreak.
Complaints-The Ethics Committee is tasked with addressing OOC complaints at times, which may require their intervention to ensure issues are resolved fairly and professionally. Ethics Committee might at time manage demotion appeals
Being the face of ethics- Representing the Ethics Committee isn’t just an in game responsibility it extends to OOC interactions as well, whether on the forums or in Discord. Setting a positive example and showing a friendly environment helps build trust and reinforces the Ethics Committee as an important role of the community.
Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in:
To ensure everyone understands, I’ll explain this quickly
When I encounter significant incidents on the server such as a PK or a major roleplay event, I write those experiences into the lore I have. Most of the content in my three lore documents follows the actual sequence of events, with a sprinkle of Imagination, Thank you!

I am here today applying for the position of Ethics Committee Member because, after much thought about what I want to achieve on this server, I have decided to pursue a role that aligns with my interests and knowledge.I aspire to rise to a higher level not only within the chain of command but also by contributing meaningfully to the server’s roleplay. What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:
My Overall Experience
Having been on the site for an extended period and having served in every regiment often rising to high ranking positions within them, I’ve gained a alot of experience in handling a variety of scenarios. These experiences have provided me with a strong understanding of what is needed for different regiments and departments. Some of the key experiences I wish to include and I will do them in the order that I got them in.My Overall Experience
My first ever Clearene 4 ( Internal Affairs Ambassador)
I first earned my first Clearance 4 as an Internal Affairs Ambassador on June 21st, 2023, serving during the time of Charles Whitmee and John Dear. During my time as an Ambassador, I was fortunate to begin my journey alongside two amazing individuals, Tim Drake and Phill Dee. We were all inducted at the same time, which allowed me to grow and learn with them making the experience alot more fun since I was surrounded by people with good energy.Serving as an Ambassador was an incredibly good experience for me, especially since I struggled with severe anxiety when it came to public speaking.
Omega-1 Captain
My time as an NCO and a CO in Omega-1 was incredibly meaningful for me. One of the most significant moments of this experience was being entrusted with my own squadron by Commander Pilot. It was the first time I truly felt responsible for a team of individuals who relied on me to guide them and ensure their experience was as enjoyable and efficient as possible. If I failed in my duties, it could negatively impact their time as Omega-1When I was assigned the squadron "The Prosecutors," I immediately took charge, setting up tasks for them on the Trello and actively recruiting new members to join. By the time I resigned, I had managed to make The Prosecutors the most active it had ever been during my time in Omega-1, and I’m incredibly proud of that achievement. Their support played a significant role in making my time in Omega-1 so much better, and I’m grateful for the lasting friendships and lessons I've learnt.
UNGOC Major
This was undoubtedly one of my most significant and rewarding experiences on the server, largely because I had the opportunity to serve alongside Ronin (Cheesy), an old friend from Omega-1 who had risen to the rank of UNGOC Lieutenant General by the time I joined. From the moment I joined, I was surprised by how simple the activity system was within the regiment. While I didn’t initially raise any concerns, as I climbed the ranks to 1SGT, I recognized the need for improvements to make the system more engaging and reflective of the faction’s purpose.I worked closely with Cheesy to implement a new system that replaced the logging of hours with the requirement to earn a set number of merit points each month to remain active.

Consultant
After resigning from the UN, I decided to take a non-combative path something I hadn’t done in a long time. I settled into the role of Consultant, and after being accepted by Director of Medicine Kayla, I was given the freedom to choose my area of specialization within the Medical Department. I chose surgery, a decision I’m still very happy with to this day.Not even three days after stepping into this role, I collaborated with researchers and E-11 operatives on a test involving SCP-035. The goal was to examine how 035 alters the brain functions and nervous system of its host and explore whether it was possible to extract the host without causing fatal harm. What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:
Tribunals- The Ethics Committee ensures that CL4 personnel, and in rare cases CL3 personnel (typically assistants as judges), are judged properly and are given a fair tribunal when suspected of violating an FLC rule. Ethics Committee Members act as impartial judges, ensuring that both defendants and prosecutors are fully informed of the tribunal date and are prepared for the proceedings.Authing AA- During a Code 5 involving three SCPs or when it becomes an issue for the non-combatives on site then the highest ranking personnel on-site, typically an ECM or O5, can authorize access to the Advanced Armory.
