Hello, before anything, I have been told by Senior Admin Rowling to appeal this ban to SSL, which I might aswell do here.
During the past few days, me and other CI Command members have realized that using the Tarrot Card SCP that we have stored in CI base can be quite helpful on raids, it has around 20-ish different effects (might be more we haven't got all of them), some bad effects, such as Strength in reverse, which makes you take way more damage than usual, some are busted, as presented in this case, The World tarrot card, which gives you around 5 seconds of full invincibility and has 3 uses.
Having found this effect and its use, we thought of a way to possibly extend this effect, as it could be really useful if we could extend it. Then I thought about chemicals, if corticosteroids extend the effects of chemicals, why would it not extend the effect of an SCP? And so we decide to raid, I got 3 doses of cortico in my inventory ready to use.
I want to make this very clear, the raid goal was to kidnap an ECM, not breach something or ruin server health.
We make our way to core, everyone goes inside to kidnap said ECM and I stay outside ready to use the effects of the SCP. People start pushing, I use the effect, then drink a dose of cortico and push out of core towards PW. During the next 6 minutes I am invincible from any source of damage.
- The Aftermath -
Around 4-5 hours after the incident, I get pinged in ci-command-us by Senior Admin Rowling telling me we need to speak, I am then pulled in teamspeak and informed that I will be receiving a bug abuse warning as it is my first offense, and if this happens again I will be banned for 2 weeks. I already believe this is wrong as I purely didn't know using cortico to extend an effect that is not from chemicals is bug abusing, I have never heard of this ruling and it is nowhere in the rules or staff rulings. Yes, I did find it overpowered and told the other CI members in that raid that I won't be doing it again because it is broken. If I were to do it over and over and over again I would take full accountability however this is the first time I've used it and it was a test. Besides this, why give CI OP SCPs and think they won't weaponize them. Let's be serious why is one of the effects of the SCP invincibility to everything? I don't believe this warrants a whole ban, in my opinion I have been caught in the crossfire and happened to be the one getting the effect.
But let's get to why I actually got banned, because this was a warn at first.
I decided to edit a few clips together of the incident, and post it in ci-command-us with the message "this is what ci is about". The same clip I have posted in highlight submissions to clear things up since ooc at that time was going crazy about how I was invincible and how CI are OP, even thinking I was on some sort of chemical.
This morning I have been messaged by Senior Admin Rowling telling me the following: "After seeing you posted a montage of this in highlight subs, hearing others opinions, and seeing don't actually have any remorse for what was effectively 6 minutes of ruining server health, and bug abusing, I've escalated your warning to a 2 week ban. You may appeal this to SSL on the forums."
Again, the montage was not in any way shape or form supposed to show the fact that I had no remorse for my actions. I had no idea that using cortico to increase a gm swep timer is against the rules. I thought I just found something insane for CI that is intended, because after all, why can I even do this? I'm kinda new to using gm sweps and I don't really have any idea how the effects work so take this with a grain of salt.
As for ruining server health.. I don't really know exactly what I did to ruin server health? I was in core, pushed out, went pw loop, went back to core and died, no harm was done to anyone else but the combatives coming to core, I avoided killing non-combatives.
If I did ruin anyones day, I apologize, I did not intend to make anyone hate the server or a certain faction, I was not aware that what I did is against the rules.
edit - after using the gm swep and drinking cortico, it makes a sound, the same sound when you combine two chemicals and it makes a "god chem"
