Ban length: One Week

What will you do to stop this from happening again: Going forward I can keep references to real life events, tragedies, and politics to an absolute minimum. I won't draw parallels between the treatment of d-class personnel and world conflict for comedic effect. I will abstain from using any war, terror, or otherwise violent act past or present as a criticism of gensec or a dry humored punchline.

Why should you be unbanned: I do not feel as though the statement made is a genuine reflection of any of my personal beliefs nor do I condone those real-world actions. It was said out of frustration from being repeatedly shot through the fences in d-block in an unethical or justified way that led to that dark simile. The intended target of the stated punchlines was not the suffering of actual human beings but the bizarre and aggressive behavior of other role-players. Furthermore, this is my first and only infraction on this server or any civil network as far as I am aware, I've received no warnings from staff prior and up until this confrontation I'd been a contributing member to active roleplay scenarios.

I banned you due to me receiving a clip from a Guy called Tony Steward, the contents of the clip involve a D class riot in which you made some unsavaory comments about real world events / tragedies. In which you said something along the lines of "Just like I misclicked those kids in North Gaza". I asked Other Staff members about their opinions and they said it was Severe toxicity which carries the Punishment that I gave you

Thank you for your response but I'm not confused about what you administered the ban for, I'm displeased with the conversation during sit itself and the severity of punishment. Unsavory comments are something made en-masse during d-class riots, surely, I am not the only one guilty of that. Gensec members were indiscriminately shooting down d-class on the bridges, and I heard one claim that it was a misclick, to which I responded as you quoted. A hyperbolic response and comparison made in frustration, as originally said. I'm fine taking responsibility for what I said, I did say it and I apologize for the impact that comparison had on Tony Steward and yourself. I'm appealing to the consequence as I am a first-time offender of any variety with zero prior warnings. You can see on my account that yesterday was my first day on the server and I spent it playing at length with no issues. I'd be more than happy to make a case in my defense for the staff members who took no time to interact with me before contributing to your decision-making process here.

Thanks for taking the time to make a ban appeal.

I have reviewed all information provided in this post, and will say what you chose to say in game doesn't belong in this community. If you have personal beliefs about the situation that's your right but on Civil Networks it is unwelcomed. If you are so frustrated with the situation at hand it may be better to create a staff ticket or take a break from the server or change your RP. Due to your poor judgement, the ban length will not be changed. I hope you can use better judgement in the future.
