What server you were banned on: SCP-RP (USA)

Your in-game name: Jim Crumble [OSAT-INS]

Your SteamID: STEAM_0:1:597849680

Ban Reason: NITRP | FailRP | RDM

Date of ban: Mon May 4 02:39:46 2026

Who banned you: Richard Daniels(STEAM_0:1:116033570)

Ban length: 30 Days (3 weeks 6 days left at time of writing)

What will you do to stop this from happening again: Take far better care when planning anything in advance.

Why should you be unbanned:

Hi! I figure I'll start with a brief rundown of what happened from my perspective and what my intentions were the evening I got banned. I'll separate that from my actual reasoning so this is a bit easier to read.

Background & Ban Reason

A few friends and I wanted to do something a bit different and thought it would be cool if we all hopped on Ranger to start some drama and do our own little mini-event. Our plan was to LARP as RCMP-OSAT and start some shit with the UNGOC by serving a search warrant on their compound. I spent about an hour before all of this looking at the actual Canadian Criminal Code to write up a realistic search warrant that I was rather proud of and to have all the info we would need when arguing with the GOC.

Later, after some normal patrol RP and getting into a few arguments with the UNGOC, we attempted to serve the warrant, leading to us being turned away for rather obvious reasons, and then a very annoying and boring shooting war that lasted for what I think was an hour.

Overall, it went terribly, and I myself accept that. My friends and I should have put much more thought into it and probably excluded a few of the lads we did bring in.

Reason for Appeal

All that being said, I do believe that my month-long ban was a tad excessive considering that:

While I was involved in planning everything, the laptop I was using meant I was only able to get about 20fps in-game at best. This means that, for the duration of the time we were in-game, I was either staring at the ground getting about 12 fps or hiding inside the station trying to fix my lag. I did engage in a brief firefight with the UN, where I think I may have killed one person, but was again too laggy to do much and got blown to hell by a DEA agent after a few seconds.

In addition, to dispel any claims of metagame that will inevitably be raised given the context I provided, while we did plan what we wanted to do on Discord, any communications once we joined the server were done using our actual in-game radios or in-person meetings. Assuming any of the admins involved in this were spectating us or just nearby in RP, this should be quite easy to confirm considering how much we used those god-awful radios.

Overall, I get why I was banned but only object to the fact it seems I was personally singled out and given the longest ban (30 days compared to the 1-3 days given to everyone else who participated) despite how limited my actual in-game involvement was. I at least wish to have my ban reduced to that of the others who were banned.

If I'm to be honest, I'm especially keen on being unbanned soon since I've just gotten my PC fixed and was hoping to be able to actually play at a stable framerate again.
