What will you do to stop this from happening again: If any situation like this happens again, I won't approach it. If I do, it'll be in the appropriate places instead of calling them out publicly. In the future, I'll reach out to staff directly and provide the evidence there is rather than escalating it in RP. I care about the community being safe, but I'll do it in a way that aligns with the rules.
Why should you be unbanned: I understand that my actions of specifically calling out another player for their harmful behavior were seen as "Innapropriate Conduct" and disrupted the server. I want to be clear that I acted out of a sense of moral responsibility and not just to be mean. I believed, and still believe, that the behavior that player was doing was predatory and needed to be addressed on multiple levels, and that she shouldn't have been allowed back onto the server.
I recognize that the way I chose to bring attention to it was not the way the handle it within the structure of the server. I acknowledge that handing the player a document titled "How to be a Pedophile 101" was extreme, and I understand why that may have led to disciplinary action.
However, I do believe that grooming someone nearly 15 years younger than yourself is more concerning than what I did. I do not regret calling it out, but I should've done it in more of a private manner.
I also want to make sure that anyone who was banned alongside me should not have been held responsible for this. It was my idea and mine alone.
If the server staff believe that a permanent ban is appropriate, I would at least ask that it come with a clearer and thorough explanation other than just "Innapropriate Conduct." I'd accept a reduced ban if one were considered, and moving forward, I would report any similar concerns through the proper means.
