What makes you the best candidate for Ethics Committee Assistant?:
I take great pride in my ability to write clear, precise, and professional documents, a skill I’ve refined throughout my tenure as Director. Beyond that, I’ve demonstrated strong leadership, making difficult decisions when necessary, even when they were unpopular. Leadership isn’t just about authority, it’s about accountability, and I fully embrace that responsibility.
I approach every task with professionalism, and a commitment to excellence, ensuring that whatever I’m entrusted with is completed to the highest standard. I don’t just react to challenges, I anticipate them, developing solutions, and always keeping the bigger picture in mind. Regardless of the situation, I remain dedicated to seeing things through to the end.
I'd like to edit in another personal reason as to why I believe I'd be a great candidate. I'm a very blunt individual who has a real passion for the work Ethics does in the facility, I feel doing things in the most ethical way possible covers both ends of the spectrum. One monetarily and the other morally.
What are the responsibilities of Ethics Committee Assistants in RP?:
- Ensure full compliance with the Code of Ethics (CoE) across all departments.
- Assist the Ethics Committee Members (ECM) and Ethics Committee Chairman/Chairwomen (ECC) in completing tasks and fulfilling directives as required.
- Oversee the proper authorization of work permits and facility documentation while ensuring adherence to all Foundation policies and protocols.
Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee Assistant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
During a standard research session with SCP-[Redacted], something didn’t sit right with Vito Dusk. The test was routine on paper, observe reactions, take notes, move on. But one of the subjects, D-####, wasn’t just reacting. He was breaking down in a way that didn’t fit the expected parameters. He wasn’t just stressed; he was spiraling.
Dusk flagged it. Brought it up. Was told to keep going. That didn’t sit right with him. He tried again, same response. At that point, he had a choice: let things continue as ordered or step in. He chose the latter.
Without waiting for further approval, he halted the test and pushed it up to the Ethics Committee for immediate review. The follow-up investigation confirmed what he suspected, exposure to SCP-[Redacted] had much more severe psychological effects than originally believed. Had the test continued, the damage to D-#### wouldn’t have been temporary.
Outcome & Review
Ethics took a close look at the situation and ultimately backed Dusk. Technically, stopping a test without authorization is a no-go, but in this case, following orders blindly would’ve caused real harm. His decision forced a reassessment of SCP-[Redacted]’s testing conditions and led to necessary changes in containment procedures.
There was no disciplinary action. If anything, Dusk was acknowledged for doing exactly what a researcher should, knowing when to follow the book and when to question it. His judgment call likely prevented future incidents, and Ethics recommended that he be given more autonomy moving forward.

Final Notes
This wasn’t about defiance or disregarding rules. It was about knowing when to trust experience over protocol. Dusk saw something others missed and acted on it, even when it wasn’t the easy thing to do. That’s the kind of awareness that matters.
At the end of the day, rules exist for a reason, but so does discretion. This time, Dusk’s call made all the difference.
Status: No action taken. Ethics Committee supports granting Dusk more decision-making authority in future research.
