One ban, Cheating x1 (There are underlying elements to this punishment that I refuse to go into detail about, we will keep it to cheating and cheating only)

Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?
I feel my efforts on the server as long as I have been on here have largely been focused on the RP and quality side. My combative experience mainly came from personal connections and interactions with all groups so its safe to say my resume for Role-Playing is quite extensive.

What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
I've made some very unique research studies, a large portion of my suggestions for CivilNetworks catered to SCPRP have been accepted or partially accepted, and I have molded and changed for the better any group I've been in a leadership position for. The changes might not be overly influential, however as long as I pushed the group in the right direction, that's all I need to feel accomplished. We're not here on this earth to do better for ourselves but to do better for others, and those accomplishments are not designated by those accomplishments themselves but the failures you've endured along that path. I wish to teach and learn more so I can make that experience easier and more accessible to others.

How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?
I believe as it stands right now I have four. More are in the works, and have some uploaded waiting for rating
SCP-096 'firewall' "CRI" implant chip
SCP-409 interactions with anomalous and common materials
SCP-2295 longevity and quality control over periods of time
SCP-914 & SCP-096 Cross-Test Research Study

What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:
Its quite easy to confuse quality with quantity, and most people assume writing more documents automatically makes you qualified for a leadership position. This statement is and will always be false. The major qualities with being in a leadership position Junior or Senior CL4 is as follows;
  • Understanding your role as a leader is also understanding the inner machinations of the department
  • Being a leader also comes with difficult decisions, and being un-biased is crucial
  • Assisting with department leaders Research or not to expand the scope of RP as a whole for the server, not just for your own gains
  • Assisting with lower clearance leveled personnel to retain and gain the confidence to stick with the research department just as you have. Remember, you're not here forever, so your main point of contention is to train your replacement (I do this for a living)
  • Approving and denying documents and tests based on quality not quantity or friendship
  • Ensuring that guidelines and policies are up to date and easily accessible, remember Directors can't do everything
  • Be a good person, really WANT to teach and learn from your mistakes

Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Dossier: Senior Researcher Vito "Dusk"

Clearance Level: 3 (Limited Access to CL4 Documentation)
Department: Research Division (Specializing in Biohazards and Bioengineering)
Field of Expertise:

  • Memetic Hazards: Analyzing, neutralizing, and developing countermeasures for cognitohazardous phenomena.
  • Bioengineering: Innovating practical solutions for hazardous environments and containment procedures.

  • Background:

Vito "Dusk" earned their nickname during their early career due to their ability to "illuminate the dark" — shedding light on previously unsolvable containment challenges. Their sharp intellect and relentless pursuit of solutions have earned them a reputation as both a visionary and a risk-taker within the Research Division.

A former field operative with firsthand experience in containment breaches, Dusk transitioned into the lab after losing teammates to a memetic outbreak. Their work is fueled by a personal drive to prevent similar tragedies.

    Achievements:

    1. Memetic Containment Breakthroughs:
Developed the "Recursive Isolation Protocol" (RIP), a revolutionary methodology that uses semi-sentient algorithms to trap and neutralize memetic hazards in real-time. This procedure is now standard practice for the containment of Class-A cognitohazards.
    2. Bioengineered Chip Innovation:
Created the Neuroshield Biochip (Cognitive Recognition Inhibitor "CRI") , an implantable device that acts as a proactive defense against memetic and biohazardous threats. This chip eliminates the need for traditional inoculations and protective measures, granting both personnel and civilians a higher survival rate during incidents.
    3. Civilian Integration Program:
Designed protocols to safely integrate containment knowledge into public awareness campaigns, subtly inoculating the civilian population against low-level memetic threats without inducing panic.

Highlighted Studies by Senior Researcher Vito "Dusk"

SCP-409: Crystallization Phenomenon

Focus: Stopping and Understanding the Crystallization Effect

  • Study 1: Effects on the Mind
Dusk tested if SCP-409’s crystallization could affect people's minds. While the crystal effect isn’t memetic, it can cause mental breakdowns in people who watch it happen. This led to better safety rules.
  • Study 2: Slowing the Spread
Dusk helped create a special liquid that slows down the crystallization process in people, giving more time to save them. This liquid is now part of emergency kits for containment teams.

SCP-2295: The Patchwork Bear

Focus: How It Heals and How to Use Its Abilities

  • Study 1: How It Knows What to Fix
Dusk worked to figure out how SCP-2295 can "sense" injuries and fix them with patches. They found it might use a simple trigger that lets it understand what the user needs. This helped start ideas for making similar healing tools.
  • Study 2: Adding New Tech
Dusk tested their Neuroshield Biochip with SCP-2295 to try and copy its healing abilities for more people. While the tests weren’t perfect, they opened up new ideas for future medical devices.

SCP-427: Miniature Health Talisman

Focus: Using Its Healing Power Safely

  • Study 1: Safe Usage
Dusk looked at how long SCP-427 could be used before it caused dangerous overgrowth in cells. They created clear guidelines for how long it can be safely used, which helped prevent accidents.
  • Study 2: Copying Its Power
Dusk worked on a small device that mimics SCP-427’s healing ability but avoids the risks of overuse. This device is being tested for use in emergencies.

Enjoyed working with Dusk when we were both in GOC. He made the GOC what it was back then and has always been a great RP leader. Although his activity may be low and people may not be too familiar with him, he is someone you will definitely want on the Executive Researcher team.

Dear Vito Dusk,
Thank you for your application into the position of Executive Researcher. We are disappointed to inform you that your application has been denied, your documentation on site has been appealing; however we feel you lack experience. We urge you to continue your studies and your time here with us. You may reapply in 2 weeks.

Sincerely, Deputy Director Corgeon Keagan Cornwall.
