What O5 role are you applying for, and why (give the specific O5 number):
I am applying for the position of O5-4 under the codename of "The Veteran.” I wish to become a member of the Overseer Council to further promote roleplay on the US server. During my time as a member of Epsilon-11, Alpha-1, and the GM Team, I have seen/created documents and roleplay situations/events that fascinated me in a way that made me want to experience or create more of them.
I have been in Alpha-1 for an extraordinarily long time. I am currently working on year two. I've been Commander for over 200 days. My tenure was called in during a time of internal crisis. The regiment is now in a state of peace and prosperity. The current CO team is promising, they all mean well. I am convinced it is time for me to pass on the torch and move up.
What makes you the best candidate for the O5 Council?:
- Leadership Capability. Roleplay leaders have to work with a team and handle situations with a sense of care for what other associated parties want. I believe I have what it takes to handle these situations. I have shown these capabilities through my tenure as Alpha-1 Commander, especially during the final quarter of 2024, when most of the CO team resigned in September.
- Willingness to Create Roleplay. Roleplay leaders need to be willing to RP and create roleplay scenarios for players to partake in. If I were to become a member of the Overseer Council, I would be encouraging other departments to approach me regarding projects/roleplay ideas they wish to set up and execute. I would also write up roleplay event ideas and discuss them with department/regiment leads and get them set up with the server’s Game Master team. My ability to create these roleplay scenarios was showcased in my brief tenure in the GM Team.
- Availability. I am constantly checking Discord and the Civil Networks SCP-RP channels for any changes to Foundation policies, messages from other regiment/department members, or questions coming from Alpha-1 members or Staff. Upon receiving one such message, I either respond to them, redirect them to a CO, or kindly ask a CO to respond for me in the event I am not able to respond to their message in a timeframe I consider fast enough.
- Experience on the server. I have been a member of Civil Networks SCP-RP for a bit over a year now. Throughout that time, I have experienced so much of what makes the server what it is and how the server has changed over time. A new player could come up to me, ask a question, and receive a response that would satisfyingly answer their query. At a high rank such as Overseer, assisting new players would show great dedication and care for the server, its values, and for the players on the server.
- Activity. I am highly active on the US Server. As of writing, I am eighth place in total activity on the US Server. My playtime is currently recorded at 2,086 hours. I believe that my high activity will showcase that I am an active and productive member of the Overseer Council.
Responsibilities of the O5 Council are as follows:
- Overseer Council members discuss GoI relations with Site Administration & DEA Leadership.
- Overseer Council members talk to the Ethics Committee regarding A-1/O5 & O-1/EC relations. The Overseer Council also works with the Ethics Committee to update major site policies such as the Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics.
- Overseer Council members approve, discuss, and create research projects with the Research Department.
- Overseer Council members oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility and ensure everything is going well.
- Overseer Council members issue classified orders to Overseer Assistants.
- Overseer Council members issue classified orders to and receive protection from Mobile Task Force Alpha-1 “Red Right Hand”.
- Overseer Council members are entrusted with the power to call Emergency Response Teams and detonate the on-site Alpha Warhead. Detonating the Alpha Warhead comes with the extreme side effect of resetting any RP prior to the warhead’s detonation. Detonation of the Alpha Warhead should only take place if ERT has failed their mission.
Members of the O5 Council appoint Overseer Assistants, Site Directors, Directors of Research, and the Alpha-1 Commander.
As roleplay leaders, O5 Council members create and encourage roleplay for the regiments, departments, and factions of the server. Setting up roleplay is done either in-game or on Discord/TeamSpeak. For some roleplay events, members of the O5 Council might work with the server’s Game Master team to set up custom SCPs, custom SCP items, custom rooms/areas, and prolonged roleplay events.
Please give some lore about your O5 character and what storylines they would be involved in:

SUBJECT: NIGHT DEMON
Greetings, Director Jones,
I have recently read a report that originated from Canadian Site-65. An incident occurred in which a train arrived in the LHCZ Trainyard. This train brought personnel to an old service station used to hold anomalies before Site-65 was constructed. One anomaly was still in the old service station. The “Night Demon” followed personnel back to Site-65, terminated personnel, and was then captured by on-site Epsilon-11 forces.
However, a blackout resulted in the failure of several containment and secondary systems. This allowed the unrecognized anomaly to breach its temporary containment and escape Site-65 relatively undetected. I am writing to you to ask if any reference to this anomaly or a “Night Demon” exists anywhere on our system. I have taken the liberty of informing all North American sites and areas that an uncontained anomaly may show up at an unknown time.
With Considerable Curiosity,
O5-4

SUBJECT: NIGHT DEMON UPDATE
Salutations, O5-4,
The Recordkeeping and Information Security Administration has investigated your concerns regarding the incident at Site-65 on 03/17/2025. The “Night Demon” does not exist anywhere within the SCIPNET system. It would seem the relocation orders for this particular anomaly have either been lost to time or were never uploaded to the new system. The closest documented SCP to its description is SCP - 966. However, its unique properties, different effects on personnel, and unusual means of attacking lead me to believe the “Night Demon” is an entirely unique, undocumented anomaly.
I currently have teams searching through the paper archives for any un-uploaded traces of this SCP subject.
With Great Concern,
RAISA Director Jones
1 URGENT MESSAGE RECEIVED, DECRYPTING NOW.
FROM: SITE INSPECTOR GRANT
TO: ALL NORTH AMERICAN LOCATIONS
SUBJECT: UNCONTAINED ANOMALY
I send this message to you all in grave tidings. An uncontained, undocumented anomaly breached containment at Site-65. It is completely invisible, and there is no telling when it will pop back up. Monitor your surveillance and detection systems twice as closely. Recent data on this anomaly will be attached to this message.
Inspector Grant
[OPENING ATTACHED DOCUMENTATION]
SCP: Unknown. Likely SCP-966 Relative. Referred to in recovered documentation as the “Night Demon.”
Object Class: Keter
Secondary Object Class: Uncontained
Description: Subject is normally invisible and cannot be seen with night vision equipment. It is unknown, but possible, that the subject can be viewed with thermal gear. Subject appears to stalk its prey extensively before attacking. Attacks usually occur when the subject is in a person's blind spot or otherwise unable to perceive the subject closing in on them. Subject is capable of travelling through solid matter to gain access to other rooms.
Notes: Stalking patterns were able to be learned after the subject repeatedly gave up its invisibility to instill fear into its victims. It has also been noted that the subject loses its invisibility if substantially weakened. However, this loss of invisibility appears to be ephemeral. Reports indicate the subject appears as a charred corpse when not invisible. Subject may be a cognitohazard, but no Site-65 personnel have reported the frequent nightmares originally associated with exposure to it. Subject may also have a “corrupting” effect on technology, but this is also unconfirmed.
