What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Text/GUI box upon spawning as an SCP that details the RP rules of that SCP as well as what that SCP does.
While some SCPs are obvious in their abilities and intentions (137), others (such as 457 "flame body" requiring that the player communicate by typing only) are less obvious.
Some examples would be 8837 getting a short biography along the lines of "As far as you are aware, you are an American Astronaut holding a base on the Moon. You possess supernatural abilities, and have a hatred towards the soviets. Something in the back of your mind leads you to believe something is off, but you cant tell what. Find out the truth, or keep the Moon safe from bad actors."
or Scp 2245 "You are an animated doll. You can produce sewing materials and create organs out of anomalous items that appear seemingly out of nowhere. Help injured humans, and don't put yourself in harms way".
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
not anywhere that I've seen
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- Increase consistency with SCP Roleplay
- Allow newer players to explore these SCPs' identities and get into the RolePlay without bumbling around, wondering what to do or who to be
- Make limitations more clear of each SCP
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- The pop-ups may serve as "rules" that could be punishable when broken depending on who is playing the SCP
- Pop-ups are annoying
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
SCPs are the most interesting creatures present in the facility (no shit, right?) And having a consistent identity or atleast a baseline idea that's easily viewable upon first spawning allows everyone to form the story of that SCP into a general image that can be agreed upon AND acted around both for RP and combat purposes. This also helps combat the idea of "Oh, Xyz is playing 2245, he's just gonna walk around, I like ABC on 2245, he actually does medical RP"
