What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion introduces the SecureLink Clearance System, unified access control mechanism that ties all in-game information, document visibility, terminal usage, name visibility, and door access to a player’s keycard values: Department, Rank, and Clearance Level.

System Additions Include:
  • Keycard-Based Clearance Enforcement
Each keycard stores: Name | Department | Rank | Clearance Level. All systems and access points check against this data.
  • Clearance-Based Document Redaction
Documents and terminals will use CL1–CL5 markers to redact sections players aren’t cleared to see, displaying: "[REDACTED – CLx REQUIRED]”.
  • Keycard Lockout Protocol
Repeated unauthorized access attempts result in a temporary lockout of the player’s keycard. Only Site Admin, Department Director, or ISD may restore access.
  • Access Breach Alerts
Unauthorized attempts generate real-time alerts to ISD, Alpha-1/Omega-1 ect, including offender, location, and time.
  • TAB Menu / Name Visibility Restrictions
The TAB list and nameplates only show players you’re cleared to know exist. For example, D-Class cannot see CL4 names unless authorized.
  • Terminal & Database Security Overhaul
Personnel files, reports, and logs on terminals are parsed by clearance level. If access is denied, the system returns: "ACCESS DENIED – Clearance Inadequate".
  • Keypad & Door Security Enforcement
Access attempts are logged, and multiple failures initiate a local lockdown or investigation protocol. High-security zones like Ethics Wing or Site Command are closely monitored.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
While previous suggestions may have touched on clearance-based access or document control, this proposal is the first to offer a comprehensive, integrated system affecting identities, files, terminals, documents, doors, and admin enforcement. It transforms clearance from a passive title into an active mechanic.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
  • Prevents metagaming by enforcing access barriers across the board.
  • Enhances immersion by tying in-character clearance to what can be seen or accessed.
  • Empowers ISD with tools and logs to track, manage, and punish info breaches.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
  • Development-heavy, requiring dynamic access parsing and metadata systems.
  • Could frustrate players unaccustomed to strict IC data access.
  • Risk of delay in keycard reactivation if ISD/Admin are offline.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
This system enforces realism, prevents meta abuse, and reinforces the importance of clearance. It strengthens the roles of ISD and Admin by giving them meaningful oversight of information flow. The SecureLink Clearance System creates a layered and immersive environment where secrecy, structure, and hierarchy are not only respected but enforced by design.

Suggestion Denied

Hi @Dusk ,

Thanks for taking the time to make a server suggestion.

The Content Team has chosen to deny your suggestion due to the following reason(s):

This would require a huge rework that would completely change how the server functions and would have to be implemented over the course of months, with the amount of work that would be required and with no guarantee the current playerbase would enjoy it. The realism this would bring would also likely be too severe that it'd border on 'unfun' for newer players and even current players.

Your suggestion will now be locked and marked as denied.
