There is a lack of ecm at the minute and I think you would make a decent member with the ability to learn more. People being so tight expecting people to be perfect for a role is the reason ethics has such little members as it is. I understand this is a important role but giving people no chance to even become a ecm if they dont have the perfect credentials shifts people away from wanting to even put an application up. This same problem happened with site administration which they loosened the requirements/expectations and now SA is in a much greater place than it was. Anyway mate we haven't spoken a whole lot if that at all but I hope you get given a chance and if you fuck it up then thats on you.

Broda, I am trying to get an idea of someone who is applying for ECM and who is a potential candidate to become a key part of the Committee, which I am an ECA in, if you really must know. Really it wasnt necessary for you to respond in such a way, as all i was trying to do is get the most out of what work he has done before giving my support, as i like to ensure i have all the details.

Hi Porkchop,

I think you're a solid CO for Omega-1, at least from what I've seen externally. But, I believe that the jump from that position into that of a Site Command role is very harrowing. And, as such, I think you need to be able to present to the decision makers for this application that you're ready, and that you have an unshakable understanding of what the Ethics Committee do.

For examples of 'readiness', could you show or describe your ability to make decisions competently as an ECA, and handle recurring RP scenarios like Tribunals. Disputes & Ethical evaluations. Your implementation and understanding of the Committee's "cold not cruel" ethos. How you, as a CO, have provided oversight to Omega-1, liaised with ISD. And, how you'd handle interactions with senior personnel in SA, or even members of the O5 Council.

In fairness to you, you've brought up PA, it's a good start but that isn't the ONLY function of the Ethics Committee. For the section about what the Committee do in RP, could you potentially expand upon your answer? And, maybe show some examples of what exactly you'd be looking to do in RP? It's well and good describing a GOI, or a one-off situation you've been involved in, but I'd be looking to expand more into your long-term intentions to assuage concern.
