What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Disables rendering of pistols on disguised jobs (ISD, CI DC, Etc.) similar to D-class.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
A handful of tangentially related suggestions for D-class, which have been denied, but none pertaining to disguised roles at time of writing.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
For ISD (and other foundation roles), it allows the ability to defend oneself from a hostile arrestee while maintaining a non-combative disguise.
CI DC/GOC AR would be able to assassinate targets or defend themselves against enemies without blowing cover.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
None come to mind, unless the weapon rendering system is intended to force non-combative disguises to be unarmed.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
For ISD especially, the ability to appear as a non-combative while also having a means of self-defense is crucial to their role and gameplay. Arrestees often become violent when faced with arrest, and random D-class attacks are also common. DC/AR infiltrations also rely on the less suspicious non-combative disguises to evade detection, but also need to be able to kill targets and defend against enemy units.
Hiding pistols on non-combative disguises allows the aforementioned roles to continue using non-combative disguises (essential for ISD, and highly convenient for others) without completely eliminating their combative capability. It is, in my opinion, a fair compromise between being completely disarmed (or forced to choose a combative disguise) and being able to conceal an entire arsenal (the way things worked before).
