What can you bring to the Global Occult Coalition:
I can bring previous roleplay experience, Long time knowledge of the GOC and the SCP Universe as a whole. I've been playing SCPRP for years (Across different games and servers etc, it being one of the main things bringing me into the SCP community) and picked up a lot during my time. I also am able to keep calm and stay mature in an OOC setting, upholding the GOC's reputation as a GOI on the server. I pick up things fast such as job rules and ensure I will be able to adapt to GOC as a job quickly whilst keeping the quality of RP high.
Why do you want to join the Global Occult Coalition?:
I want to join the GOC as I feel that it's introduction to the server is being handled well, and that it therefore will be a well rounded GOI with both roleplay and active combat being balanced throughout it's time on the server. I have also always liked the idea of the GOC as a GOI that sticks strictly to the fivefold mission system and will have relation changes because of it.
Expanding on my previous point with RP, I believe GOC will add a large amount of roleplay to the surface, Including its interaction with pinewood, CI and the foundation, which gives people who enjoy surface RP like myself much more to work with.
Why was the Global Occult Coalition founded?:
Founded in the late 1940's, after The Seventh Occult war, the GOC was founded as a measure to prevent anything like it happening again. To expand on this, The GOC was formed to intervene in any anomalous activity that could harm the human race, they were formed to do this in a way that could be kept secret, but done fast and efficiently. The GOC fight to keep normalcy in the world, keeping it safer for all living on it.
What does the PHYSICS, PSYCHE, and PTOLEMY Divisions specialize in and give an example of some functions they do:
PHYSICS:
The PHYSICS division are GOC's main field division consisting of both Strike teams and Assessment teams. Strike Teams use a variety of equipment from Black Suits to White Suits in order to neutralise or secure threat entities. Strike Team tech is often Gen++ and therefore is equipped with a self destruct device to prevent this technology from being lost to other GOI's and the general populace.
Assessment teams will investigate and case out a threat entity, being more akin to intelligence than heavy combatants.
For example, Assessment teams would be assigned to Response Level 2 threats, those that mainly concern the first 3 missions. An assessment team will quietly and covertly liquidate a threat without breaking the second mission.
A Strike team, will more often be called to Response Level 3 and more so 4 threats. Response level 4 threats are strike teams most common KTE, assesment team being unauthorised to respond unless its for backup, An example of such a KTE being KTE-2013.
Strike teams can also be used to combat rival GOI's as well as retake stolen Gen+ technology.
PSYCHE:
The PSYCHE division handle diplomacy and threat prevention with Special Observers and Ambassadors. Ambassadors handle relations with other occult powers, such as: The SCP Foundation, UIU, Deer college and other non hostile GOI's involved with the anomalous world.
Special Observers play a unique role in the GOC, watching over tests, investigations, etc. Observing to see if any actions caused by the GOC or external sources could potentially cause a KTE or breach of the fivefold mission. For example, If UIU and GOC were operating in the same area, Ambassadors would be responsible for maintaining good relations and communication between the group. An example of special observers would be overseeing a non GOC group in order to determine whether their actions could bring about a parathreat, and if they could, they will likely alert PHYSICS.
PTOLEMY:
PTOLEMY deals with support, handling the equipment and research side of the GOC. This makes the PTOLEMY division essential to the GOC's operations as otherwise, operatives wouldn't have anything to use against threats. The PTOLEMY division consists of R&D and Quartermasters. R&D is self explanatory. Researching new technology for GOC use as well as research of thaumaturgy and other anomalous topics. Quartermasters handle giving out weaponry to GOC operatives as well as running GOC Facility supplies. Quartermasters work with GOC operatives to find out the equipment for them as well as handing out suits/armour. For example, A GOC operative may want their weapon tailored to their specifications, A Quartermaster would handle that. In R&D's case, They're constantly receiving funding for research into new tech and ways to carry out the GOC's goals. They research tech and anomalies, carrying out mission 5 making them essential to the GOC's operations.

Survival: As mentioned before, To ensure the survival of the human race. This mission is the most important of them all.
Concealment: To keep the veil of secrecy up. Public knowledge of parathreats will cause mass panic and is dangerous.
Protection: Protection of individual human beings. This mission can be broken in pursuit of Mission 1.
Destruction: Parathreats are a risk to humanity, and so no protection is to be given to them. In fact, they should mostly be destroyed to minimise any risk to the human race.
Education: This mission is simply to learn as much as possible about parathreats when not risking the other missions.

The Seventh Occult war is a war that occurred during the same era as WW2, one of the main and final events being the Nazi's Occult organisation, Obskuracorps, attempting to utilise SCP-3457 (Commonly referred to as the Rite of Solomon). The Foundation and The GOC's Precursor, the AOI (Allied Occult Initiative) which had been formed during the war, intervened in this attempt, Successfully ending the seventh occult war.
What makes the Global Occult Coalition different in in-comparison to the other groups within the SCP-universe in your view?:
Other groups in the SCP universe are often selfish. While the foundation say they are protecting humanity, there are tons of cases where they put research over humanity. The GOC is different in that it will postpone any and all other rules or missions in order to protect the human race. It is their sole goal, and they will do anything to maintain it. GOC operative will sacrifice their life in order to protect the human race as a whole. Another unique part of GOC is its official presence its ties to the UN allowing it to interact with many other Governmental GOI's in a way groups such as the foundation do less. On top of all this, while the foundation is its own secretive organisation ruled by a small amount of people, The GOC is lead by the council of 108. 108 powerful occult groups all of which have a say in GOC's operations.

James Ashwell grew up in Northern Ireland and planned on going to university, doing something academic. Although unknown to his parents he felt a strong urge to join the army. After a few work shadowing events at 'normal jobs' James decided it was boring, not for him and began to prepare for Officer entry at 17 then applied to join as an Officer at 18, taking the direct entry route and moving to England. When his training at Sandhurst had ended, he commissioned as a 2nd LT and was awarded the Sword of Honour, then attended POIC training joining parachute regiment.
James' family weren't very present in his life as by this time he was completely focused on his career as a Parachute Reg Officer, which could possibly explain why he considered his fellow soldiers his family to such an extent. A few years later at the rank of CPT who had attended both special forces week and special forces officer week, he was promoted to MAJ. James was then put on a 3 year long tour of duty with the SAS as a Troop Commander.
On his 3rd year, with lots of experience in the SAS by now, James and the troops he was commanding were deployed in Iraq for a special operation. During this, they encountered a group of ORIA operatives who were utilising anomalies to defend their homeland, although in a destructive way that caused lots of collateral damage. Half of James' troops ran for their lives. The other half stayed and died excluding James, who continued attempting to subdue the threat, but failing to do so on his own. James managed to live, although losing a sizable chunk of his ear and other pretty serious injuries, until GOC operatives arrived at the scene, neutralising the group of ORIA present and neutralising/securing any anomalies in the area, then tending to James, saving his life. James, while thankful and alive was confused and terrified of the sheer power the enemy had shown, things he had never imagined could actually exist, but held himself together, coming to terms with what had happened. The GOC monitored him after the incident, taking his career into account as well as his attitude towards the situation, and after vetting, decide he is fit to join.
