Discord name: serrt

For how long have you played on CG SCP: Since February of 2023, consistently.

Age: 20

In what country are you located?: United Kingdom

Time zone: BST

Character name(s): Cade "Sunbeam" Valentine (formerly Cameron "Flora" Stoker)

Civilian name: Cameron Stoker

What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): SCP-RP UK

Do you have a mic?: Yes
-
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held: Site Advisor (holding), Nu-7 Lieutenant (held), CI-A (holding), CI-B (held).
-
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?: I received a warning in Summer 2022 for Combat Jumping. This is the only known warning I have.
-
What makes you the best candidate for Overseer Assistant?: I believe that being an Overseer Assistant would be a perfect opportunity for me to further develop my skills and interactions within RP. I have already participated in several events, being one of the figureheads for the recent Death storyline, which I believe reflects my desire to generate and also participate in RP around the site. The role comes with immense responsibilities but also great learning opportunities as to how the Site functions and how working with Site Command is necessary for that functionality. I also feel like I have a lot of existing skills from my time as Site Advisor thus far to help me integrate into the role very quickly, which I fully intend to do as I have expressed interest in the Site Command mentoring programme.
-
What are the responsibilities of Overseer Assistants in RP?: The Overseer Assistants execute the will of the O5 Council by following their instructions, conveying their messages and acting as their face when required in order to respect the Council's secrecy. Their existence allows for the Site to be monitored and maintained without the Council having to directly approach situations at all times and also enables much more efficiency at Command level when the Assistants are working to a high standard, as they can work on one list of duties as the Council works on another. They will also be expected to work with Alpha-1 where required in order to execute any of the duties they encounter in their line of work. They may also be an ear for people who wish to the speak to the Council and pass messages or concerns on, making them diplomats of the Site in a sense. They also still have significant responsibilities in the absence of the Council, as they would then be obligated to assume command to ensure the Site still functions.

Please give some lore about your Overseer Assistant character and what storylines they would be involved in:

23rd June, 20XX
Site 65, Floor 3, Meeting Room.

Calling the sight before him a corpse was...stretching things. Cade Valentine had seen many a sight thanks to his time in the Court of Site-27, but this was taking it to a new level. The entire body was riddled with bullet holes, with almost no limbs properly in-tact. Severe burn marks suggested the use of energy based weapons on the now deceased Advisor. Bruising around the wrists suggested restraints, which had clearly been struggled against until the bitter end. Whatever had happened here, frankly, he wasn't sure he was ready to find out. All he knew was that Advisor "Flora"s death had been deemed necessary by the Council for traitorous behavior. The finer details were lost in an abnormally redacted incident report.

"Not a pleasant sight, is it? I'd almost call it a pity, if circumstances were different." The man to the left of Valentine was an unknown. An Overseer, if his meeting notes could be trusted. Why his expression looked almost triumphant as he stared at the corpse before him...a complete mystery. And just why had such extensive firepower been used for one man? Death should have been instantaneous, with no question. So why were the wrists bruised as if he had been struggling against his restraints the whole time...?

"And I suppose the reason why it isn't a pity isn't for my ears in the first place, right?" Valentine knew how this worked. Secrecy, as ever, was the lifeblood of Site Command. The body would certainly haunt his memories, but that's where it would stay. In memories. Except...

"Actually, as much as we want you to fill his space as an Advisor, I wanted you here for another reason. I saw your file and checked through the redacted parts. I trust the term 'Anomalous Forensics' rings a bell, Mr. Valentine?" The palpable silence the Overseer let hang in the air after that felt almost smothering to Valentine. This was a test of nerves, silently played between the two. Of course the Council would know about such an incident but to bring it up in such a way would only mean one thing, which he would never allow to happen.

"That term remains dead and buried along with the fourteen Foundation Personnel who lost their lives in the incident, sir. I patented it and I wish for it to never see the light of day again. Ever." Valentine turned to face the door, preparing to leave and taking a stride away from the corpse. "Thank you for your time. If you'll excuse me, I believe I ought to be starting my work."

The Overseer pressed a button on the table which allowed the door to open for the now disgruntled Advisor, chuckling quietly all the while. "Do enjoy your time here. And, as a personal aside...when curiosity does get the better of you, you are free to return at any time. We both know what I want."

Cade Valentine left the room with nothing more than a nod, the door sealing once more behind him. His code name had been decided the moment he had looked at the corpse. A facility entirely underground, yet a small glow, like the suns rays, still remained on the skin. It struck him with a desire for answers, one that would start a domino effect to his future. Now, it was merely an inevitability of time as he left Floor 3. Nobody who would warp reality itself to find answers could stay away from such a path forever. Such as would be proven once more...

3rd July, 20XX
Site 65, Floor 3 Lobby.

"I admit, I was starting to get worried you really weren't going to come back." The Overseer and Valentine stood, facing each other once more. Several incidents had naturally passed in the week or so since the newly appointed Advisor had settled in, but ultimately only one had remained in his head. That corpse and an opportunity to revisit his past mistakes. Perhaps now with an opportunity to make them right.

"You said it yourself. You knew I'd be back. I know what you want, of course. All I want is a blank cheque and help with my work. I believe these two things are both simple and fair requests." If any desperation had leaked into his voice, neither of them would comment on it. A precipice was being stood on and both of them were lost in their own thoughts, each considering the possibilities for their own gain.

"Done. A simple enough request, just send any invoices to me as needed and I'll write them off for you. I do have but one condition for you, however; I want you to work for us as an Assistant as well. The potential that this project of ours has is beyond most peoples imagination. You can benefit the Council more than you could understand if you succeed in what I need, so it only makes sense to offer you the position." The offer was expected and a formality between the two at this point. The Overseer held his hand out expectantly, the agreement all but finalised.

Valentine hesitated for only a moment before extending his hand out, shaking the offered hand and nodding, the prospect of the future and righting the past consuming his thoughts. "I look forward to it. We should go inside, if you wouldn't mind. I believe it's time I tell you the details of the perfect murder."

With a satisfied nod from the Overseer, the two walked further into Floor 3 as a 12 years old tale began its recollection. An opportunity for the future for one, an opportunity from the past for the other. The consequences of such a partnership would be learned eventually. For now? An autopsy needed to be performed.
