Why are you applying for Medical Consultant:
I have been part of the Medical Department essentially since joining the server, and I would now like to be able to assist even further, as there are still restrictions linked to my primary role of Senior Doctor. I'd also like to be able to help my Department grow when and where it can, making sure there are no bad apples under my assisted watch.
Another reason for applying is that I feel that after long enough within the Medical Department, the position of Consultant feels right due to my experience.
What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:
As previously mentioned, my Experience within the Department, along with my knowledge (Which of course still has room to expand!), and I think the opportunity of being a Medical RP leader will greatly assist.
I deem myself as being professional, able to handle any and all situations that are presented in an appropriate manor, having handled situations IC/OOC related to problems in the Department, or in Medical RP itself.
Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
Surgeries
Depending on the situation, the Patient would be escorted in either by foot, in a Wheelchair, or in certain situations, carried in by hand and laid carefully on the bed. After assessing the situation, deeming whether privacy of the Patient is more required than not, the Metal Shutter would either remain open or stay shut. Afterwards, the staff performing the surgery would gather any and all appropriate equipment, keeping it close to hand, along with anything else that may be required, such as the patient's foot that needs to be surgically restored.
After the initial setup, the Medical staff performing the surgery would begin, the Surgery Lead likely instructing the others on what actions need to be taken via /me commands. If the patient is not already under anaesthesia (Local or General), and it is required, that is when one of the Medical staff would put the Patient under. Once the initial setup is complete and the Patient is prepared, a series of /me and often /roll commands would take place (With/Without GM presence if required) and upon an agreement that the Surgery is either complete, or unable to continue due to certain circumstances, the Patient would either be escorted to the Recovery Room, or a Body Bag would be brought in, their Department Lead (Or those appropriate) would be informed and the patient would be placed into cold storage for decomposition.
What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
- To create fun, interesting and engaging RP within the Medical Department and those that surround it.
- To train up Trainees, distribute Medical Licenses / Combat Medic Whitelists if/when required.
- Assisting in keeping relations between the Medical Department and all others on the server intact
- Keeping up the reputation of the Medical Department, including handling any issues/problems that may arise IC/OOC
- Handling any situations of abuse within the Medical Department, taking appropriate measures such as removing licenses/job-banning.
- Being there for any kind of questions or assistance from within the Department itself, or those seeking Medical Advice.
- Upholding FLC within the Medical Department
Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Department head of Surgery at Toronto General Hospital, Caitlyn Beauchêne MDCM, started her Medical Journey within McGill University, spending four long and laborious years to achieve the MDCM, Medicinæ Doctorem et Chirurgiæ Magistrum. Though after finding difficulty in the career market, Caitlyn found herself on the front lines within the Canadian Armed Forces, being commissioned as a Medical Officer, though thanks to a mix of her expertise and assistance with higherups during conflicts, Caitlyn found herself at the rank of Major, and upon halfway through her second year of service, starting at Age 26, Caitlyn found a proper career as an Attending Physician at Toronto General, gaining further expertise.
Through a mix of time and effort, Caitlyn eventually landed the position of Department Head of Surgery at age 32, and thankfully after the years of pushing her body and mind, Caitlyn was happy with her current position, and life, yet on a Tuesday Summers afternoon, an intriguing email arrived, stating a position was available within 'Site-65', Saskatchewan. Despite her initial refusal, due to the relocation and achievement of her current position, Caitlyn eventually took the job thanks to enough persuasion from the Director of Medicine ███████, involving access to Medicine and Technology that could not be dreamed of by a Civilian, finding herself as an on-site Consultant.
Storylines:
Currently, Caitlyn is involved within two medium-sized storylines related to Medical, one for OSA Rebecca Arlen involving Therapy Sessions partially taken over from Consultant Blackwell in relation to handling the Assistant's struggles with an Alcohol Addiction, conducting regular chats and BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) tests on the Assistant.
The second is for the character of Caitlyn herself, involving a Trauma-Induced partial psychosis related to a kidnapping/hostage situation stemming from impersonation by CI Deep covers and a ruse-story, resulting in her having small yet concerning hallucinations, regular lapses of reality, in addition to a fit of Caitlyn getting overwhelmed more often than should happen, and she realises.
