Why are you applying for the Director of Medicine?:
- I am applying for the role of Director of Medicine as a slot has recently become available. It was always my goal to eventually make an attempt at the DoM position, however I did not expect it to be now. That said, when an opportunity presents itself like this, I feel it is better to try and fail than to do nothing and wonder what could have been. Worst case scenario, I get a better idea of what it will take for me to get the position if I should ever apply again.
What makes you suitable for Director of Medicine?:
- Despite my shorter tenure as Consultant, I believe I have demonstrated a clear wilfulness to take the initiative on certain things within medical. I am always throwing myself into RP and encouraging others within my department to do so too, and I believe that I have what it takes to join our other DoM in leading the department properly. I have experience putting together documents for new and outdated procedures, and have been successful in introducing a few things to medical, such as the 2nd Opinion Act, which encourages Doctors+ to assist each other with RP and decreases abuse of certain things such as Morphine, and I have aided in updating the Medical Empowerment Act to have clearer guidelines.
What are the responsibilities of the Director of Medicine in RP?:
- When it comes to RP, the DoM is in charge of managing the entire medical department. Their duties range from partaking in simple procedures such as evals, to training fresh consultants and trainees to do their duties. The DoM is usually more trusted with restricted information due to the high clearance level of personnel they may work with. They encourage their staff to follow procedure and are the final say on if a new procedure or policy can be put into place. They Also have the task of ensuring outdated policies are removed or updated. The DoM also ensure relations between the Medical Department and other departments continue to flourish, and encourage the rest of the Medical Department to have an open and inquisitive mindset when dealing with patients. They ensure everyone in the department behaves and set the example of how the rest of their department should carry themselves.
Please give some lore about your Director of Medicine character and what storylines they would be involved in:
- Currently, Clark Williams is still trying to accomplish his overall goal of removing the traumatic memories of his past. However, despite the lingering suffering he still feels, Clark has made many strides to overcoming his past. He has become a Consultant, a position he never thought he was capable of obtaining before and as a Consultant he has done much work within the department to aid and improve things for Site-65. He has learned many new skills and met many new people. Now, he has seen that the chance for him to lead the department is available, and he believes this could be the path he needs to take to finally heal from his past and prove he has what it takes to be an excellent Doctor. Currently, Clark is involved in a murder mystery, where some strange possibly anomalous being is murdering site staff who have a history of info breaching and abusing anomalous entities. Clark as always has shoved his beak into the meat of this situation and has himself become a victim. Thankfully, some members of the research department believe they can revive him, and Clark will be wandering around site again in no time. For future storylines, I tend to just throw myself at whatever seems to be happening, even if sometimes it may not make sense for me to be there. I enjoy RP thoroughly and hate the idea of just locking myself down to one place, so if I hear of something happening, I will try to find a way to get my department involved to give people more to do. I definitely want to play with the idea of coming up with a specific event centred around Clark's past where he has to confront his mistake or something, and I plan to talk to some GMs I know who I believe can help make this happen. I also want to find a way to involve as many people as I can in the situation, as I know how boring it can be to have to just kinda sit around and watch other people do everything.
