" What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why? "
I'm Applying for the Ethics Committee Member position.
I like the creative freedom I get with being an ECM, along with creating scenarios other individuals can also enjoy. Along with that, unlike my prior experience I wish to achieve more this time round. Overall improvement of the foundation and aiding in the new lore classification for A1 and O1. I want to do better than my last time as ECM, introduce fun story lines and orders for ECA’s. Currently I’m working on bringing the Coral story line to the end, she likely won't return, maybe as an event character- but not as my main one. A shame due to how much effort and thought I put through into her lore, a collective of over 3 years worth of stories. Along with this, I'm currently working in collaboration with several gm’s and staff team to bring a future event to life! (just gotta wait for the event server que to go down.)
Now it's time for a new character to take over in her place, one that's more ‘To the letter of the law’, perhaps not as merciful as most knew my last one to be. Matter of fact and blunt so to say. As I'm now working with a blank slate character, there's now more potential to create the ECM the site needs. Strict, cold, not cruel, mentality regimented for results. But with more surrounding her other than the facade the Ethics committee shrouds themself with.

" What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee? "
Admittedly I'm not the best at 'selling myself' in the bragging sort of way, not in any way if I'm being completely honest. That was evident by my last applications and I'm well aware of it. To recap my prior statements, I have experience on ECM, yes, but not on the UK site. I do however have current ongoing ECA experience, I have been partially stagnant due to not playing my main character (Coral) and creating a new one to replace her- as she’ll likely not return to the site. Both servers are similar yet incredibly different from a lore based perspective. From my time on that site I've gotten better with what people call 'socialization', so I'm not as much of an anxiety riddled mess. Those improvements are reflecting in terms of the development. I'm lenient, but if you abuse that you will be treated with a colder, more blunt response and interaction by me. In comparison to my time on the US site where I was more of a pushover I've gained more of a backbone. What goes around comes around in its simplicity. The coldness of being an ECM is something I'm developing. The cruel side can be there if I'm dealing with the right individual.
In terms of why i'd make a great ecm in other terms, I'll keep it simplified for the people who prefer less 'yappy' responses;
Excellent documentation along with expectation of decent to high standards, this can be utilized for going over FLC and ensuring wording and punctuation of it is clear and concise. This also included collaboration with my fellow ECM’s in developing new policies that may be required for the FLC. Excellent documentation work will be useful in maintaining ooc documentation, along with improving wording / punctuation.
Excellent RP capability, unless something incredibly unexpected occurs, I rarely break character and will tend to react to occurrences with the opinions of my character. This ensures that unless stated in an ooc manner, or unless it's been deemed by admins or GM's that the occurrence isn't valid, my reactions and interactions are genuine.
Excellent observational capabilities, this allows me to gather details needed or pick out individuals on possible lies or misinformation. I prefer to gather all details before coming to a final decision on a situation to ensure my course of action is fair and just within the confines of the FLC and Ethical standards. If I'm missing information, I will gather what's necessary for my final choices to be made. I avoid opinions and focus on the facts of the situation. This also allows me to defuse argumentative situations that may turn violent.
Collaboration efforts; In all scenarios I do my best to ensure I'm not overstepping. I will however assist if it's requested, if it of course isn't in combat as I'm primarily a non combative individual. For example, when it comes to ISD I usually allow them to handle arrests if they're around and witness it, if they need some assistance I will typically help. ForkLift Certification. Yes, I hosted a forklift certification to ensure the individual wouldn’t be flagged for utilisation of a motorized vehicle without proper certification. The certification had a written portion and a practical portion. All witnessing enjoyed the bizarre scenario, despite their success in getting the certification- they subsequently had it removed 45 minutes later due to a hit and run incident.As of now I've been planning and collaborating on events with the GM team… The initial event was halted due to the GOC war. However, it's fully ready to go! Once the first event is complete I will edit in how the event went. I don’t want to give spoilers! SO THEN! From what I know currently most people enjoyed 'The Tavern Inbetween' event I hosted with the amazing help of a few staff members and GM's. It was hosted a tad late due to technical difficulties but most who attended were enjoying themselves within the confines of this reality bending tavern, some found information they sought after- others got drunk to the high heavens. There is a post in the feedback channel- anything specific to this event is to be left there please!Another story line I'm planning that will allow for collaboration between IA, LE and the assistants about a string of corruption around the distribution of a new and dangerous addictive drug. It's still in the works.
" What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP? "
The Ethics Committee operates on a long standing lie, to be seen as 'useless pencil pushers', as they are the ones who deem what is necessary for the mission statement. Their name “ The Ethics Committee “, is merely a front, a disguise. They prioritise themselves to ensuring the foundation remains on its path and upholds its principles of Secure, Contain, Protect. One of The Ethics Committee's most vital duties is the observation of the O5 Council and their practices, to protect them from corruption. They will intervene when the council participates and orders unethical procedures. The Ethics committee will prioritise passive interaction and partake in advisatory actions with the O5. If threats or directives are utilised, there is a risk of exposure to the primary action, resulting in further conflict affecting the site as a whole.
Primary Action is the utilisation of MTF Omega 1 to mass terminate the O5 council, subsequent replacements will then be allotted. Utilisation of this drastic action requires an Ethics Committee vote, and utilisation of such acts as a mark to show the failure of the Ethics committee to prevent corruption among the O5 rankings.
The Ethics Committee will intervene if they believe a test has no value to the foundation other than for the maim or harm those involved in the test. This could be the anomaly itself being tested in a manner more akin to blatant torture, or researchers inhumanely utilizing D-class for tests sending them to their deaths without the proper procedures being taken. The Ethics Committee Ensure Ethical and humane treatments of D-class personnel being utilised for research, and the same for sentient or sapient anomalies within containment.
The Ethics Committee will also hold other higher ranking positions and individuals on site accountable for any FLC breaches, they do this by collaborating with ISD by aiding in approval of Tribunal requests, and if necessary will act as judges in legal cases. Overall they work with ISD to ensure any and all departments are following the Legal codex. No one is immune from the law of the site, not even those who write it. Along with this, they observe the site-wide actions to ensure adherence to the FLC and mission statement, every department with their rules and policies.
Along this note, the Ethics committee will perform regular audits on all departments to ensure the ongoing following of the FLC and documentation standards are upheld.
The Ethics Committee utilizes and manages Ethics Committee Assistants to keep eyes around the site, to ensure the smooth running of operations of each department. This is done through placing project orders, for both personal and general posts for information collected to be combined and verified. If necessary they will utilize MTF Omega-1 to aid in more controversial operations, or to act as additional informants through orders and POI boards. However it should be stated that MTF O1 's connections to the Ethics Committee is prohibited knowledge by anyone other than Site staff of clearance SR CL4 and up. The Assistants and O1 are proxies for the Ethics Committee.
With the recent lore changes on the servers, they are now referred to as Law Enforcement (LE), and this guise is to be held for their operational security.
The Ethics Committee can utilize site Apparatus' such as;

ECO, Floor 3 and Emergency Operation Center are areas where the mass amnestication will not reach. As individuals in these locations tend to have the clearance necessary to know the information, unless stated otherwise. If certain CL4 individuals are not permitted to know but are in any of these locations, they must be amnesticated manually.

The most common reaction from witnessing the void tends to be unconsolable terror, some instances taking months of mandated therapy for the individual to disclose what they saw. Increased calculated energy readings were appearing during traversal too and from dimensions. Instances of this were most regularly noted when the cartographer in question entered the dimensional rift before the visual cue had activated. This was noted as impatience on the cartographers side, however his discovery was rewarded by the ridding of the potential protocol violation on his record. Thus with the use of adapted recording equipment, the first image of the Void was witnessed… When he took a closer look the effects on his mental state were clear, that individual is still on mandated medical leave. Poor sod got thrown in the foundations version of the loony bin. Regardless it proved the existence. “

He is one of the only other individuals I trust to not blabber about this project, along with that he has the mental fortitude equipped to maintain ongoing research. As for now this is Executive Alexandra Roselle signing off from Site 98, as my relocation documentation has been pushed forward. A shame really, I was beginning to enjoy our discovery, oh well… I hope this information sets in place a guidance for the next to take on my station. “
