SCP-RP UK

none this is my first official request for one as primarily i wouldn't see myself as a combative for the time being

Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
one for inappropiate conduct. someone was making the "a succulent chinese meal" meme and i played into it a bit to hard with the person (no idea who they were) officially it was a warning. the one taking the sit was understanding as it was my first offense.

What makes you the best candidate for Ethics Committee Assistant?:

I’ve always leaned more toward the immersive, slow-burn side of RP on this server. Breaches and Class-D riots are fun every now and then, but what really pulls me in is meaningful interaction — conversations that feel layered, tense, and personal, and that might actually have consequences beyond the room we’re sitting in.

I enjoy the kind of RP where two characters can sit across from each other and genuinely debate morality, procedure, or consequences, and it actually feels like something is at stake. If I question an RSD, it wouldn’t be to hinder the scene — it would be to make the researcher pause and think about why they’re doing something and what the long-term impact could be.

I genuinely enjoy helping others, both in RP and out of it. I’ve had people come to me with questions about how to fix something or make something work, and I do my best to guide them where I can. I think that mindset fits well with an Assistant role — supporting others, enhancing scenes, and adding depth instead of shutting things down unless it’s genuinely necessary.
What are the responsibilities of Ethics Committee Assistants in RP?:

Ethics Committee Assistants are essentially an extra set of eyes and hands for the Committee itself. Their role is to make sure departments are operating within ethical boundaries — whether that’s in their conduct, their research practices, or the way they’re handling anomalies and personnel.

They’re expected to observe, question, and, when necessary, single out individuals or projects that raise concerns. That doesn’t mean shutting things down immediately — it means asking the right questions and making sure decisions are justified beyond “because we can.”

Assistants are also responsible for maintaining the secrecy and integrity of the Site. Information control is a major part of the role — ensuring that sensitive details don’t spread beyond where they’re supposed to.

They often work alongside O-1 and ISD when situations require oversight, especially if something crosses into ethically questionable territory. And in situations where no higher-clearance member of the Committee is available, they’re expected to step up and handle CL4-level responsibilities with maturity and discretion.

At the end of the day, the role isn’t about authority — it’s about accountability.

Why do you wish to become an Ethics Committee Assistant?:

I’ve always leaned more toward the immersive slow-burn side of roleplaying as i have played on both purple rp when it was still running.
SCP Breaches and Class-D riots are fun every now and then, but what really pulls me in is meaningful interaction.
conversations that feel layered, tense, and personal, and that might actually have consequences beyond the room we’re sitting in.
I personally really enjoy the kind of RP where two characters can just sit across from each other and genuinely talk through morality, procedure, or consequences.
where it actually feels like something matters.
If I question an RSD, it wouldn’t be to slow things down or make things difficult.
It’d be because I like scenes where characters pause for a second and really think about why they’re doing something, and what it might lead to later.
I think those moments can add a lot of weight and depth to their story rather than take away from it making them question their own character's morals.
I really do enjoy helping other people, both in RP and out of RP.
I’ve had new players come to me with questions about how to fix something or make something work not just in d-block even when i didn't know an answer to something i helped them figure it out, and I do my best to guide them where I can.
I think that mindset fits well with an Assistant role. supporting others and enhancing scenes and adding depth instead of shutting things down unless it’s genuinely necessary.

Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee Assistant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Crow was not recruited for brilliance. He was noticed because he didn’t break. nor was his d-class status merited and should honestly have been fixed long ago. During Project VIOLET-9 testing, most D-Class subjects developed paranoia, dissociation, or sensory instability. Crow didn’t. He adapted. He reported distortions clinically. Calmly. He described memetic bleed like weather patterns.
He once told a researcher who was testing on him and 106:
It’s like the wall next to us is pulsating.. theres something coming. But it’s fine. I can work around it.
the researcher logged the conversation. shortly after having been snagged by 106 as a containment breach happened.
crow does not verbablly react to the things he sees anymore but his eyes may wander.
his overall goal will be that d-classes are still treated well when they behave. and the ones who don't get the most vile of tests.
"we all have rights. until you decide to take them away"
compliance matters within the d-class and as such some should have more freedom. the ones who ain't a threat, gets treated as such.

It’s a hard job to do and takes evaluation… I’m not naïve nor a pushover, but I remember exactly what it feels like to be on the other side of this table.”
I’m genuinely invested in this position and I will do my best to give everyone a positive experience. I understand that even as an ECA, the role carries weight some people see us as higher ups and others as pencil pushers, and that means how we act matters.

If approved, Crow will canonically transition from former D-Class to Ethics Committee Assistant as the final step of his program. That specific progression is something I’m really committed to portraying properly and respectfully.

I really appreciate the chance i've been given and im aware the extra bonus of the internship happened at random, and I’m grateful for the RP everyone’s given me so far. I fully intend to give that same energy back tenfold.

Oh boy, my own intern making the big leap.

You're consistent, you're active, you're friendly.. I could go on and on, though this application is about how you'd do as an ECA.

There is not a singular inch of doubt in my mind that you'd do excellently. You in of yourself are an amazing Tier-5 Intern; providing assistance towards Ethics Members and Assistants.
